2026 Random Cowboys Stuff Thread...

I just saw Caleb Downs' stats. Holy shit. 17 tackles, 1 sack, and 2 forced fumbles. I knew he was doing very well, but that's incredible. And, yes, I have watched the games, Smitty. I just didn't realize he had been that good, I guess.

Props to you for sharing that with your boy, memories that he'll no doubt hold close for the rest of his life and more so as he ages.
So I took my youngest son to the opener in Dallas in '07 vs the Giants along with my best friend and his son. My son was just about to turn 13. We were outside the Marriott the night before the game watching the players park their cars and walk in, some of them walked over to the crowd and signed autographs, (Miles Austin was one that made sure he signed everyone's item). I had bought my son one of those Cowboys footballs with the autograph panels on it so he could get some if he wanted.

Anyway, my son went off on his own and got probably 15 or so players' autographs while my buddy and I went and sat on the grass. He comes over and shows me the football covered with autographs and I tell him, "That's awesome, kiddo... something you'll be able to keep forever." He looks at me and says, "I didn't get these for me, I got them for you." Oh man, it was everything I could do to not get embarrassingly emotional right then and there.

Fuck those onions. In all seriousness, that's an awesome story, brother. Something you two will share forever. God damn, I have gotten sappy since I quit drinking. I don't know what's going on. I have turned into a fucking woman. Hug those you love because you never know when it might be your last chance;.

That boy's mama raised him right!

Cool story, Irv.

Nothing wrong with being sentimental, it means you're human...just don't be gay about it.
