2026 NFL Draft Chatter

I wouldn't want either to be the main guy I don't think, but if Malik Davis can be a complimentary back, so could Blue or Mafah.

This is where I'm at. I want Jevonte back. And I want to give every chance to Blue or Mafah to earn split time. You drafted those guys with some sort of a purpose presumably. You just kept them all year long because you have a plan for them. I know it's a fifth and a seventh round pick. And at most NFL positions those are dart throws at best. But NFL RB is a little different. Those guys are physically capable. Now they need to be mentally capable which is why you developed them for a year.

And if they aren't capable of being a second or third RB on a depth chart, then bring back Davis.

But why is that ideal to add one in the 4/5 range?

I mean, let me preface - if a RB we have as a Round 2 is there in Round 4, yeah, take him, but that logic applies to everything, every time.

All other things being equal if I'm projecting "moderate success," from a pick in Round 4 (like, he becomes a Marion Barber or a Chris Canty or Orlando Scandrick style starter, not that you find Joe Montana in the third round), I'd much rather find a quality defensive player in that range than a RB, based on our needs.

Because I think we need a more reliable, physical second back and that's historically a good range to find them.

I'm not saying overlook BPA opportunities to do so, you always stay open minded, but generally that's a good spot to get someone like Monangai, etc.

Feed the Mafeh!!!

I agree that Blue is no short yardage guy. He is damn explosive with a crease. Makes people miss and take poor angles. But at the 3 yard line, if Jevonte is hurt, I'm wanting Mafeh or someone more physical.

Think I’d rather have Styles

I'd take Downs but I'd understand going Styles given the LB situation, S is stronger but we could definitely use an upgrade there if one is staring us in the face.

I mean safety was pretty awful too. My preference is for a front 7 guy but Downs is a special safety. I love Styles as well. That would be a tough one for me. I'd feel better if I had a second or third round pick to get a LBer later. But I'm pretty thrilled with Downs if that actually happened.

Also Wilson is a free agent isn't he? Of course I doubt anyone in the NFL is going to give him much after watching him in coverage this past year.

Wilson is although I wouldn't be surprised if they bring him back cheap, depending on the DC hire.

I don't think that would stop them from taking Downs though, nor should it.

No shouldn't stop them at all. Wilson sucks but maybe a new defensive coordinator will find him useful.

You guys want a WR we can maybe have in the 4th or 5th? May I introduce you to Bryce Lance. Depending on how he tests, I think this is about where he'll go.

I mean I'm game. Always nice to developing someone. By the fourth round and later I'm just looking for talent. Don't care about position.

Trey's brother? Eh.

I want defense until our eyes bleed. If we deviate at all it should be for OL.

After the premium rounds, I don’t care what we draft as long as the talent warrants the pick. And we do need WR. After Lamb and Pickens, what do we have? Not much. Even if you count Flournoy. He’s still a whole lot of unproven question. Let him and Lance (or another pick) fight it out for 3. Because right now, we’re one injury away from disaster if Flournoy was just a flash in the pan.

And don’t just automatically’eh’ because you didn’t like who his brother is. This kid is a legitimate WR prospect.
