2026 NFL Draft Chatter

Quinn is jerking it like crazy looking at that photo

Is it weird that he feels too tall to be a LBer? Sometimes when your that tall I just think change of direction is difficult. I almost feel like the dude should add 20 pounds and try to be a 3-4 OLBer or something.

What do you guys think about Styles? And for that matter Downs.

I haven't looked closely at any of these guys yet, so just curious. Is he only an off-ball LB? If he's is as athletic as they say, couldn't he go before we pick and someone tries to make him into a Micah type edge?

And Wolchuk on the Fan, who is one of the few on that station who isn't a clown, says Downs is his favorite player in the draft despite the relatively low-value position.

Yeah I feel the same way about both. At 12, it seems high for those positions. Especially Downs, who better be Ed Reed if we're taking him at 12.

I love both. I don't think Styles is as physical as Micah was. And he really doesn't have any pass rush production to give you an idea that he can be anything other than an off the ball LBer. But maybe we didn't really see that with Parsons in college either. But he is a damn good off the ball LBer. Former safety so he can cover and basically do everything you want an off the ball LBer to do. But LBer just shouldn't be this hard to fill.

Downs is just an impact player. Safety might be a less valued position but damn he can impact the game in any way you want. And he did it at both Alabama and Ohio State which tells you plenty about his overall talent level. I see no risk of bust with the guy and the ceiling is basically an elite safety. I don't think anyone here would underestimate what Darren Woodson meant to this team for example. So I'm not bypassing him just because of position. He is that special.

I don't think Styles will have the traditional edge rush ability of Parsons but he looks like a rare size/speed athlete, he almost never misses tackles and was the green dot for them last year. He's a former safety so he's also very capable in coverage, and I think he could easily put up 4-6 sacks here and there with his blitzing ability.

Downs is an arguably the best player in the class but at a marginal position, and he seems best suited as a box guy. If he runs a 4.5+ I could easily see him dropping to us but he's basically a guaranteed Pro Bowler.

I think they're both considered pristine off the field and if that's true I think they're bust-proof.

Now that we don't need DTs, I've seen Woods dropping into 12ish range due to not having a great season. :lol

I think Downs is out of reach unless they find dead hookers in his car. Styles is my favorite LB in the draft, so he is kind of big hope for me.

I like Styles too, and fits a critical need.

If we don't sign a legitime starting caliber LB in FA (lol) I think Styles is a lock if he's there.

Pro tip:

If Cole Payton is still there in the 5th, unless there is a must have that has fallen, RUN to the podium and make the pick. Let him sit and learn for 2-3 years... profit.

I've been watching Delane closely as of late and I'm comfortable with him at 12 if Styles is gone, or if we somehow sign a legitimate starter at LB in FA. I hope we can get some official measurements and a 40 either at the Combine or Pro Day because that's the only thing I'm curious about, from the tape he's as a legit as they come, even if slightly undersized.

With that said, my preference is to wait on CB until later either at 20 or after moving down. I'd be more than comfortable taking a guy like Chris Johnson, Terrell or Cisse if we moved down to about 35 or so.

But Delane is undoubtedly a top 10-15 prospect in this class.

As far as McCoy, I'd hope that he works out at the Combine given he'll be more than 12 months removed from the injury.

If McCoy can just go out there and run a forty and put up a 4.4 forty I think all worries about the knee sort of go away. I actually think he could have played this year but by the time he could have done that the team was sort of out of the playoffs. And coming back from a knee injury I'm sure there was some fear he could put bad tape out there while still sort of coming back from the injury.

9. (TRADE) Dallas Cowboys: Sonny Styles, LB, Ohio State
DALLAS RECEIVES: No. 9 overall
KANSAS CITY RECEIVES: No. 12 overall, No. 112 overall, 2027 4th-Round pick

Just about threw up in my mouth when I saw this mock draft. Love the player, but holy fuck. Is this guy serious?

Oh, and to make it even better, when we pulled that trade off Caleb Downs, Mansoor Delane, and Jermod McCoy were still on the board. :lol
