2026 NFL Draft Chatter

After the premium rounds, I don’t care what we draft as long as the talent warrants the pick. And we do need WR. After Lamb and Pickens, what do we have? Not much. Even if you count Flournoy. He’s still a whole lot of unproven question. Let him and Lance (or another pick) fight it out for 3. Because right now, we’re one injury away from disaster if Flournoy was just a flash in the pan.

And don’t just automatically’eh’ because you didn’t like who his brother is. This kid is a legitimate WR prospect.
I think Flournoy proved himself enough this year that we don't have to worry about him being a flash in the pan. Since we are very limited in draft resources this year, I want defense with every single pick.

We’ve seen others put a couple good games together, too. I need to see more before I just consider him a done deal.

It wasn't just a couple of games. He had almost 500 yards behind two of the best receivers in the league. I would say he proved he can easily hold down the #3 slot.

Fine, NoDak can have one precious 5th round comp pick. Everything else defense.

The problem is we have 2 premium picks but nothing in the 2nd and 3rd as of right now.

If we trade and pick up another pick or two in the 2nd/3rd that changes my perspective a little. But I still don't think I'd be interested in a WR.

If we adequately fill out the defense in free agency that changes things too, but I don't expect that.

As things sit right now I want defense defense defense. We already don't have enough picks to fill every hole as it is.

In the 6th or 7th maybe I'd consider a WR, but no earlier.

As for the WR room I agree it's definitely top heavy. But I love the 1-3 assuming Pickens comes back. Even Turpin is a good 4th WR. Fill in the rest with UDFA types like Holden or Brooks or whoever and it'll probably be fine.

Yes if there's an injury to one of the top three it'll get tricky but a 4th or later round WR is unlikely to change that.

Yep.

Any draftable Bison on defense?

Tech safety that transferred from one of those Dakota schools. Wisnewski or something like that. Dont think he could start but depth I guess.

I really like Wisnewski. He is definitely not afraid to hit a fool.

I actually noticed him. Thought he was a LB but he was a safety.

This is sort of why once you get to round 4 I don't care if you're drafting offense or defense. Just go get the most talented guys you can. Year one you can't rely on any of those guys to play a significant role. But if you get the best talent possible regardless of position they might surprise you. We have to do so.ething in free agency because honestly with our picks as they stand you can really only count on getting 2 starters. Of course I'd like to move a pick down a little for a second or third so that I can come out of this draft feeling like you can count on 3 rookies.

Just when you're in the third or second round pick a safe guy at a position easy to draft a starter. Like safety and LBer.

A fourth round WR is very unlikely to solve anything if we have injuries to Lamb or Pickens. Usually at that stage if they're any good at all it'll take a year or two to develop.

In the 4th I like our chances of finding an immediate contributor on defense much more than finding an offensive guy.

Even if you're only looking through a long term lense, I think defense is by far the biggest long term concern.

Cole Wisniewski. I hated that he left. Dude was playmaker that hit like a truck.

Don't know how he did for Tech, tho. Didn't follow him this year.

Sounds like he did about what he did there. He was great.

I just take position out of it at that point. Long term is always hard to say. A year ago we thought Parsons was here for the rest of his career. Wasn't that long ago Diggs was a long term solution at corner. And we signed Bland thinking he would be a long term solution at corner.

I guess what I'm saying is with 50% of the roster turning over every year, you really don't know what will be a need 2 years from now. So just load your team with the best talent possible. You always do that and you'll be stocked with depth everywhere.

You're not likely to get an impact player on day three. But if you take the most talented guy available, you have a better shot than focusing only on defense. Hell I'd even take a DT in the fourth. Because just like I mentioned, you don't know how long Clark or Osa or whoever will be here.

It was a great move for Tech and Im sad it was only for 1 year. That guy wasnt afraid to hit someone thats for sure.
