They have one of the worst rosters in the league so they could do literally anything and it wouldn't surprise me.

Their new HC has spent the majority of his career as a DB coach so I'm assuming it'll be Delane if he's there, but maybe their asshole owner will stick his nose in it and they'll go with a flashier position like WR.
 
I think teams still care about 40's to some extent just because it's a historical benchmark that they can use for comparison, to some extent.

But it's not as significant as it used to be.

Lot more guys just don't run a forty than I can recall in the past. Personally I like the numbers. Probably more so the 10 yard split on Dlineman than I care about the actual 40. Those first 10 yards are a good indicator to me how fast a guy can get upfield or close on the QB when he needs to.
