2026 Draft Week Chatter Thread...

So I've been thinking about McCoy... I hate the knee situation for him but if this isn't something that will impact him in 2026 I think I do it with our first pick if he is still there. Maybe the bone plug never needs tilo be re-done. Maybe its 4 years from now. I thought it was an immediate need thing. But the more I hear, if it's just a down the road concern, I jump on him at this point and enjoy the ride. Could push either of your starting corners right now to start.

Jerry was asked about it and essentially said without coming right out and saying it that they're not using a 4th on him.

He did say there's a point where it's worth it but they like a lot of players in the 4th that they think can be immediate contributors.

Yeah, I don't even actually like the player much. Especially now with Downs.
I like him enough I guess. But his age coupled with the selection of Downs takes him off my list. There are other good players available. If we’re going corner, there are others I’d rather have.

Emmett, I don't get. Smallish and not that fast or powerful. Are we sure his production wasn't just due to the huge workload?

I'm sure.

Have you ever seen a RB who is 205 pounds but runs with power. That's Emmett. And while he won't blow you away with speed I think he got it down to a 4.49 forty at his proday, he isn't slow. He just isn't going to bust a ton of 50 yard runs. Just an all around great back.

Random thing Jerry interjected at the PC last night... said a former DC here told him when he was gone that they'd have done better if the head coach who was also the OC had been more of a head coach and not focused so much on "his" side of the ball. Jerry then said Mike and now Brian were excellent at that.

Had to be talking about Garrett. Had to be. I always thought that SOB wanted to make himself and his offense look good even at the expense of the overall team.

No question that was about Garrett. There was a big emphasis all of a sudden in the middle of Garrett's tenure of him turning into a walk-around coach.

And when Jerry brought it up he mentioned Mike (I'm assuming McCarthy) and Brian being good at being the HC of the entire team. In other words the two coaches after Garrett.

How the fuck was that guy our HC for 10 years?

What do y'all think about Demmings? Such impressive testing and he looks good. But the competition he's going against is so bad.

Still, I bet someone takes a chance before too long. Teams don't seem to hate small school DBs.

Do have to point out that he had the best broad jump at 42... which is only four inches more than Lawrence had at 250+.

Jerry is delusional and loves convincing himself of what he wishes were true.

I think Stephen is a miserly cheap fuck but he deserves some credit for being the adult in the room in certain situations.

He'd be ok, not a reach really, but we could certainly do better and at CB specifically with Muhammad instead.

Yeah if I'm going CB I want a guy who can play on the outside and actually cover.

The appeal for me with Scott is he's uniquely excellent as a blitzer and in run support. I'm not totally sure what role he'd play now that we have Downs but I'm sure Parker could come up with some sort of rotational role that he could be useful in.

The difference between that smirking cunt and Schottenheimer’s kid is that he is engaged and has owned his draft picks he has pushed for. You ever see that motherfucker Garrett own a damn thing? He was a parasite.
