2026 Cowboys Draft Chatter Thread

Fun fact: The first time he told that story was after a loss to the San Diego Chargers in November of 2009.
Which AI Overlord told you that? Because I don't believe it either.

It was in an old DMN article per Grok.
Go to Grok to when you looked it up and there will be a notations button on the right that will link you to what article.

We ain’t getting him, Jesus.

Depends how willing they are to trade up, I think there's a good chance either him or Downs make it to like 9, and moving up from 12 to 9 shouldn't cost more than 92 at the absolute most. Might even be able to get away with like a 4 and 5.

Seems like BS but that'd obviously be a no-brainer and would explain why they're bringing in a guy like Reese as a top 30 visit despite the fact that there's a 0.0000% chance he drops to 12 unless he catches a murder charge in the next two weeks.

There's just no way. How could it possibly be that cheap? It couldn't.

We got #73 to go from 24 to 29 with the Guyton trade down. No way 12 to 3 costs only #92. Impossible.

It came from two separate media types, without them cheating off each other seemingly, so who knows?

It'd be one of the cheapest trade ups into the top 5 in history though.
Feldman is also talking up some freak Nigerian kid like a team will burn a 7th on him, so maybe the picks don’t matter for some.

Each draft is different. Maybe rounds 2-3 picks are much more valuable than in previous drafts.

Back in 1991 we traded pick 11 and our 2nd rounder (pick 14 in that round) to New England for the top pick.

That draft was super-deep, but also very weak at the top. Rocket Ismail was considered the top player in WR-dry draft, and Dallas tried to negotiate to get him over the Toronto Argonauts before settling for Russell Maryland who had been the 5th ranked prospect but had also been coached by Jimmy at Miami.

Maybe this draft is also being considered weak at the top while rounds 2 and 3 are being thought of as not too different than late round 1?

Still, pick 92 is the cheapest price by the standards of any draft I've heard of to jump to pick 3 from 12. Also today, unlike 1991, that pick brings with it the promise of a cheap starter in a salary cap world.

Straight up, Drafttek says it should cost 1000 points to move from 12 (worth 1200) to 3 (worth 2200). That would be at least Dallas pick 20 (worth 850). So one of these sources is wrong.

Or maybe they meant to say Dallas trades 12, 20 and 92 (worth 132) for 3?
