From what I've heard, that was the exact reason. He wanted to wind down Vietnam and they weren't having that.

This is it, right there. He's capable (they hope) of reading a response, uninterrupted. But if he loses his place or train of thought if there is an interruption, he's fucked and will go off the rails. This is the best they can do to try and avoid that.

All he has to do is let Joe do most of the talking, keep his answers succinct, and not lose his cool and he's going to win.

The first thing he did upon taking office was reverse all of JFK's policies in Vietnam. We never had any business being over there and had just watched the French bungle up the same objectives for 10-12 years. 58,000 American soldiers lost in a war that we knew we couldn't win in 1965.

Scary shit for sure. Makes you wonder if they would try it with Trump. They have tried everything else (even illegally)_ to get rid of him, so what's left if they are hellbent to get him out of the way?

This would not surprise me. Our government is shady as fuck.

And what's even more disgusting is there would be millions of people that would actually CHEER if it were to happen. Hell, we'd probably see it on this board.
 
CNN has cut away from Trump's live speeches because of his "lies." To censor him tonight would take a lot of balls.

If you've never seen Ken Burns Vietnam documentary, I highly recommend it. Other than The Last Dance, it is the best documentary I've ever seen in my life on any subject.
