This feels like a mistake compounded from a mistake.

By the way, they could have easily restructured Amari Cooper in a similar way and kept him while still creating space.

Just thought everyone would like a reminder.

Yeah, just increases his dead money if we cut him after this year. Technically it doesn't do anything if you don't spend the freed up money. Just carries over to future years. But if we spend it and don't save it by cutting a Zeke or Tyron, then it becomes a problem eventually.

Yep, it raises his cap hit in future years, which if he severely underperforms again is a real problem. I think counting on him being the player he was 3 years ago is foolish but typical of this front office. They always think things work out according to the best case scenario.

They always expect the best case scenario to work out.

For the record, it's not lost on me that counting on the best case scenario to work out definitely describes Tyron's situation also. :lol
Exactly. The FO probably expects to get at least twelve games from Tyron at LT, and a Pro Bowl. :lol
Most likely? Injured in training camp, team scrambles the trade market for a swing tackle sometime right before week one.

I have some hope for Waletzko. I think he has some potential as a swing tackle. It's unfortunate that the guy had an injury that shut him down. Unlike Ball I thought he kind of held his own in preseason.

I forgot about that guy. He could be pretty solid. I don't think we should count on that though, but between him and Ball they probably think they'll be ok. Then they'll be calling Jason Peters around the beginning of September.

Strange, although hopefully a precursor to some fucking moves. If we get rid of Elliott and restructure Tyron we'd have damn near $35+ million in space.

It's a precursor to a couple reasignings. Expect LVE and Wilson for a combined 20 mil a year. Plus Fowler for another 6.

Did you just endorse Josh Ball? Tisk, tisk.
