Cowboys Nostalgia Thread

One thing I can say is Danny took them to 3 straight NFCC games before the team started falling apart in the mid-80s. I think Romo was the more dangerous QB.

White. Many more playoff wins and even came off the bench in '78 after Roger was knocked cold. Also kissed a DC cheerleader on the sideline. But even though White quarterbacked and punted, Tony was the better athlete. Could escape trouble and make plays out of nothing better than Danny.

Danny White kept a declining team competitive against some of the best teams in the history of football (80s Redskins, 49ers). Without looking at stats I’d say Danny was a better pure passer. And nothing against Romo because he was a good player.

At the very worst for White and the best for Romo, they are about equal. In fact, White has a better case.

I think it's hard to say because White generally had better defenses so he had more success, and Romo played in a passing era so he's going to have better numbers. I think they're probably roughly equal but I would give a slight edge to White.

I think had Romo been able to stay healthy a couple more years it might have flipped that because he had a real chance to do some postseason damage in his last few years. But alas.

I give the edge to Romo because of the defense he had to play with and the awful offensive lines he had to deal with. That man ran for his life for like half his career.
