It is amazing how just a few years ago, this illegal stuff like gambling, eligibility and paying college players was verboten. Now it is to that point that you drop all the charades.
It would likely be about draft rights. You can draft a guy but we have not had a pick do that yet. These are all UDFAs so far. I would hope that if you get drafted, you do not go back immediately after making no impact. So here is a weird question. Dude goes back to college, lets say he has an awesome season. So he is just a free agent? He can sign with an NFL team any time he wants now going forward? It's weird.
If a guy isn't released by an NFL team, can he still do this? Then if he comes back to the NFL I guess that team just retains his rights?
No way the drafting team doesn't still have his rights, unless of course he was cut first.

I mean, you can give them the pick back, but drafts vary so much from year to year the type of player they drafted may not be there the next draft. Every conference in the nation needs to do exactly what the Big Ten did. Cut it off before it even becomes a problem. No way the drafting team doesn't still have his rights, unless of course he was cut first.
