I mean I hate to say it but if we aren't going to pick him I feel the same way. This is an obvious special talent in this draft. Probably even more obvious than Watt was at the time. If we won't draft him because he doesn't fit into some special box we have designed, then I think we are doomed to repeat the failures we have done time and time again in the past.
What a fuck up that would be, Faulk over Bain.

I’d tolerate a trade down that netted multiple picks there, because teams would be trading up to get Bain and might over pay over what choice 12 would normally net.

But straight up taking a lesser defender is a bad, up your own ass move

If Mauigoa or Love are sitting there at 12 you’ve gotta think about it.

Big needs at each position and huge value to draft either.

I’m a believer in depth on defense vs a few stars. Take the BPA on defense after you draft Love and the team will improve overall.

Love is a dynamic playmaker who can get to the outside or cut between the tackles. No flaws in his game, and a game breaker too.

Or, hear me out...

Defense defense defense

Every time that shifty fucker breaks a 60 yard run, takes over a game, or makes the pro-bowl while we have Faulk providing reliable depth but rarely a game-changing impact— I’m going to be pissed

I highly doubt we'll be drafting Faulk at 12.

Ideally if it's a situation where Love is the clear best player and no top defenders are there, we'd trade back and add picks. I think doing that would be more valuable to us than taking a player at a position and a side of the ball where we're already among the league's best at.

Where does Bain fit in our 3-4? I know it's probably been discussed but I don't feel like looking for it. He's 6'2 and 263, just seems like a better fit for a 4-3.

Something is off with this because normally they'd just be coy and say they're always open to negotiating even if they don't do dick.

Add in the Tyson stuff and it's very odd.

If they could theoretically flip Pickens for 30 or whatever I'd be happy to take Tyson at 12 (or even Lemon), but it's very hard to see them pulling that off.

WTF? I just turned on that press conference. Did Bill Clinton just show up? And it sounded like he fell over when trying to sit down.
Saw this post and wondered if NoDak was drunk.

Listened to the PC while mowing the grass and realized no, it's the Cowboys who are drunk. (And maybe BIll.)

I think he can play some inside. He is stupid strong. I think he absolutely would be a great OLBer pass rusher but maybe not someone you really want dropping into coverage beyond sitting in the flat and reading the QB.

I think we will be in nickle with a 4 man front probably close to half the time so I'm not too worried about that. Basically pick a spot and have him attacking forward and you won't regret it.

That's the part that worries me. Clearly, he's a strong dude but he doesn't look fast enough to be covering.

Yeah, that's a weird statement to make. Makes me think whatever negotiations or talk with his agent have gone very poorly if they have gone on at all. To say that makes me think Pickens is not in the teams long term future plans. It's also kind of a dick thing to say in my opinion.

I've heard a pundit or two (credible ones, not X randos) say they didn't think he could play 34 OLB.
