Random Politics Stuff Thread...

Yeah it's the person who votes third party because they hate both candidates. I get it, makes sense to vote for the person you believe is best for the country. But in the end you're kind of throwing your vote away. Because ultimately you know it's going to be one of 2 parties that win. So most people pick the lesser of two evils.

It's really a problem with the system but you're not changing the system. I'm sure Democrats feel the same way about John Fetterman.
It’s ok to throw your vote away sometimes. I did so by not voting for McCain or Romney.

Trump was a net good so he got my vote. Rand Paul would be even better if we could get him but he’s just as anti-establishment as Trump claims to be, more so probably, so he will never get any traction. You want the swamp drained? Paul would do it.

Ok… why? What’s the difference?

I think Rand is wasting an opportunity to make some real changes because he’s opposed to everything Trump wants to do. Just like C-Lab said the other day, “Perfect should not be the enemy of good.”

I’m not sure how differently Ron would’ve handled it, I’m paying far more attention (unfortunately) today than I was 15-20 years ago, but I think he might have been a little more flexible and seen that if conservatives don’t get anything done, the left certainly will.

I think it’s exactly the opposite. Ron was far less flexible and far more principled.

I had a chance to be a part of a congressional campaign. I was the comms guy that told the candidate what to say. She lost her primary, she was a long shot candidate, but my foot is in the door now. I’m a fucking asshole, but I built up enough cred where I can help shape races now. Elected politicians responded well because I did not treat them like royalty and told them when I thought a certain policy position sucked. Its brutal, but DCC shit talking prepared me for this moment. 😎

:lol

Joking aside, that is really cool, man.
There is a place in the middle we can find as a country, but the two parties are so polarized right now that centrism is almost a crime. You either gotta be a red hat wearer or pledge allegiance to Mamdani to get anywhere anymore. Sick of that shit.

I really wish we could, brother. But, there is just so much lunacy right now. I'm not sure there is any such thing as centric anymore. Center was Bill Clinton. Center is not mutilating kids, celebrating death, refusing to agree to anything bipartisan (on both sides), attacking our immigration enforcement, etc. For those even on the moderate right, it's too far of a stretch to get to anything that would be considered center anymore.

It’s impossible to find any common ground with the left because they’re allowing the fringe to dictate everything and they are too irrationally filled with Trump hate to even bother. They will take the polar opposite side of him every time. Siding with the Iranian government, Maduro, violent illegal immigrants. How do you compromise with someone who refuses to negotiate?

Lulz. No Dems are siding with Iran or Venezuela. Dear Leader can’t even see this, this is more Truth Social banter.

Maybe they’d like to compromise.
