Prospects Dallas Has Shown Interest In - 2026

I think they probably like Mesidor a good bit.

Before I really knew who Mesidor was there were times during the season where I was watching Bain and kept thinking to myself that the other guy looked more disruptive.

It's funny I just noticed the opposite yesterday. I was like, I should go back and watch some Mesidor. And as I was watching him it reminded me just how awesome Bain really is. It was like a race to the QB. Bain just seemed to impact every play.

Yea they were both really good, I think it just stood out that a guy I wasn't aware of at the time (Octoberish) was just as disruptive if not more compared to a guy who was talked about as a top 3-5 prospect.

Yeah, saw something on him a couple weeks ago. He looks good... Moves really well at that size.

Yeah feels like what they would want in a 3-4 DE. I didn't like the clips I saw but it's like Keldric Faulk. I really struggle watching these guys that at the snap of the ball kind of stand up, extend their arms and then dance until the play develops. Then they shed and try to make a play.

At least with this guy we have to be talking day 3. I assume fifth round or later. Wasn't even a combine invite.

His name is Rene, but I damn sure wouldn't make fun of him for it. Not to his face at least.

According to AI

Rene Konga is a defensive tackle from the University of Louisville who has rapidly ascended draft boards following an elite athletic performance at his 2026 Pro Day. Originally a transfer from Rutgers, Konga combines a pro-ready 6'4", 300-pound frame with rare explosiveness for an interior lineman.

Scouting Evaluation
Elite Explosiveness: His vertical and broad jump numbers translate to elite "get-off" at the line of scrimmage, allowing him to penetrate backfields quickly.

Versatile Alignment: Konga has the length and frame to play multiple roles, ranging from a 3-technique to a 5-technique (defensive end) in both even and odd fronts.

High Efficiency: While not always a high-volume tackler, he posted a standout 86.4 PFF grade in 2025, ranking as one of the most efficient interior defenders at the Power Four level.

Developmental Upside: Evaluators note he is more "toolsy" than a finished product. He needs to improve his functional strength and move beyond "reactive" play to maximize his physical gifts.

Can we take Konga on day three and pass on Faulk in the first?

Both great run defenders. Both raw as shit as pass rushers. Both very athletic for their size. That's what I like on day three, not day one. Sorry Simp... I do not mean to offend.

SMU TE Matthew Hibner

On Sunday, the day before Monday’s pro day, Hibner met with the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints. The Saints had assistant tight ends coach Josh Hill at the workout, while the Cowboys had passing game specialist Ken Dorsey and college scouting coordinator Chris Hall on hand.

It is looking like we are investing time with that positional group. It would not surprise me if we drafted one on Day 3.

We have spent time with WR's too. I'm not sure I can draw any conclusions yet. But hell some of the work may just be to have a leg up if these guys go undrafted. Or maybe it's one of those sweet fifth round picks we have.

I do think the Cowboys see a benefit to building a relationship with some day three players in case they go undrafted.
