2026 NFL Draft Chatter

All of that to say I really like Hill. But I really like a number of LBers in this draft and so I have a hard time taking one at 20. I kind of want to trade down from 20 and take one a little later. But I also know that a trade down might not be possible.

Exactly how I feel.

That's more about the crappy TV coverage, though.

You should check the Ticket this year. Even when things are faster they talk about who is still there, who Dallas supposedly likes, etc. long before they pick.

Yeah I'm bouncing between a few different streams usually during the draft. My wife hates draft weekend with a passion. By the end of it I feel like she is pissed at me for ignoring everything else in life for those few days. But it's the one part of the NFL I've enjoyed my whole life.

Strong consideration at 20 whether @boozeman or @Cowboysrock55 like it or not.

His measureables and stats are very similar to Rashan Gary actually, although I think he's more suited on the interior than Gary was (or is).

That's a good 40 for him if accurate.

But it's not 4.58 at 277 pounds like Gary.

His stats aren't even as good as Gary's were. And Gary's production was meh at Michigan.

I hope this propels Faulk into the top 10.

I'd be shocked but it'd be great if he went before us.

And no, he's not quite as good a prospect as Gary but I also think he makes more sense rushing the passer on the interior whereas Gary has been a 3-4 OLB his whole career.

If the coaches want to continue with the whole "5 down" stuff we really need someone like Faulk, Parker or Mesidor who can win from the interior, although I don't think we necessarily have to continue with that.

Travon Walker: 6050, 272, 4.51 40 (Combine time), 35.5 inch vertical, 10-3 broad, 35.5 inch arms, 84.25 wingspan, career: 12.5 TFL, 9.5 sacks
Mykel Williams: 6051, 260, 4.75 40 (Pro Day), 34 3/8 inch arms, 82 7/8 wingspan, career: 21.5 TFL, 14 sacks
Keldric Faulk: 6057, 276, 4.67 40 (Pro Day), 35 inch vertical, 9-9 broad, 34 3/8 inch arms, 82.25 wingspan, career: 19.5 TFL, 10 sacks

One way or the other these types of prospects tend to go high, and if I was arguing that Faulk is some amazing edge rusher and should be our full-time 4-3 DE I'd get the negativity, but as an interior rusher who sets the edge on early downs I think the projection is pretty clean.

To be fair I don't think I liked any of them in the draft.

Im fully prepared for a Faulk pick at 12.

Prepare yourselves.

Yea I remember, I think a lot of the concerns would be mitigated with Faulk and those types of prospects if the plan was to use them as 3-3 DE types and not pure edge rushers.

Faulk in particular is a good bit bigger than Williams and only about 15 lbs lighter than someone like Arik Armstead.

And he's only 21, right? Good chance he adds good weight the next few years.

And in 3 years you're probably right. I think he could grow into what I love as a 3-4 DE. Which is the 6'6" 290 type player. He just isn't there yet. But that's a lot of projection. I don't think he is close yet.

I haven't seen Dallas really show interest in him yet but we will have an idea of what they think over the next month.

Kind of weird to me that some of these major football factory schools have their pro days on the same day. Bama and Ohio State (and to a lesser degree A&M) have to be on the exact same day?

Yeah makes it hard for NFL teams to decide where they send their staff.

I don't think they have to fit that old school Parcells mold anymore, 270-280 is definitely big enough with how much more spread out the game is these days.

The way I think of Faulk is as an Osa replacement who has added versatility to play some 3-4 OLB. He's only a few pounds lighter than Osa but I think he'd be roughly as good of a run defender right away, with much higher potential as a pass rusher.

I think he could conceivably be a better interior rusher than Osa at some point during his rookie year.

BTW, Texas Tech's pro day is tomorrow, and there will be a bunch of coaches in attendance.
