Shavon Revel injury update shows some optimism from Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones shared an update on injured rookie cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. during a recent interview, and a potential timeline for his return.

Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones shared some details on Revel's rehab during an interview with The Blitz, from San Antonio Sports Star.

“We just think the world of him. We really think he’s going to be a hell of a player in this league. But we’re on that same thing (as Trevon Diggs) of when do we think we’ll get him back," Jones said.

"I’m 99 percent sure he’ll be back in the next couple of weeks. But then he’s a rookie, so it’s going to take a minute for him to get used to it and what it’s like to be a pro and those types of things."

Guess this is why he fell to the 3rd.

Basically going to be a redshirt year, sign Gilmore tomorrow.

The clock is ticking on Gilmore.

If I am a vet like him, I wait for attrition.

We are not the only team in this position. Miami is going through it now. We are not the only franchise in the league. So, if there is any competitive bone in Goof or Cap Waiter Boi, we have this one on the front burner.

But we all know, the answer is nope.

They just need to be patient with the kid. He is talented but you have to look at the long term picture. Rushing him out there early to try to have him play at the start of the season would be a huge mistake.

If Diggs is back in a few weeks and can stay healthy I have a sneaking suspicion he's going to play pretty well after all the criticism. He's going to be playing for his 2026 salary, either here or elsewhere.

And Diggs/Bland/Elam is a pretty solid trio, but given that Gilmore could be had for maybe a 1/5 type deal it'd be a no-brainer insurance move.

Mukuamu is interesting, I think we've all felt he deserved more opportunities, and if he's impressing enough to potentially be a top 4 guy even once Diggs returns then maybe he'll finally reach the potential we all hoped he had.

Kemon Hall would be...not great.

It is a good thing he is providing a reminder. Winfrey also is making noise.

My teeny tiny itsy bitsy microscopic inner homer is encouraged by the apparent change in the culture with regards to competition.
I agree … it’s hopeful to see we’ve exited the Camp Cupcake Era ..
