That's silly. He's a legitimate prospect.
He absolutely is, just a legitimate prospect we would normally overlook.

I do too. I missed where we were all supposed to be Deion fans. For most of my life he was the unbelievably talented but selfish player who didn't like to practice and went over the coach's head to the owner. I guess when he took the JSU job in the summer of 2020 we became almost required to root for him.I kind of hope he fails there in a big way.
Imagine if this defense ends up being elite at stopping the run, how many more opportunities to get after the passer on third and long they'll have. This defense will be significantly better than last year which was already VERY GOOD.
I could see it being one of those once a decade type defenses.
Fairly sure I don't like your tone.Except for Gallimore and Armstrong. The rest were playing their butts off for the most part unless they were being lazy.
Correct. You have to have the right mindset, as well as the talent to stop both the run and pass. When Hankins missed time last year, the run defense fell apart, and that also hurt the pass rush, and he's just a decent player. Whereas a guy like Mazi, being just as stout against the run, but much more athletic, has potential - key word "potential" - to be a dominant force inside. Now against a run-dominant team like Philly or San Francisco, what do you want to bet Mazi and Hankins get used side-by-side around 30-40% of the snaps? That is a staple of any sustainable good defense, even in this age of "the pass". You still can't have a bunch of ninnies out there who can't handle it when an offense decides to play big boy football.
We did not have that mindset from many of our defenders.

Eager to see that alignment. Eagle Scrum Fuck.against a run-dominant team like Philly or San Francisco, what do you want to bet Mazi and Hankins get used side-by-side around 30-40% of the snaps?
Uhhhhhh…
My initial feeling is this is not a good thing, but he probably feels the needHe wants to be paid like an edge, not an off-ball LB, which makes sense.
I'm not sure how much "bulk" he really needs to add but we'll see.
Hope he doesn't lose much of his rare speed. My initial feeling is this is not a good thing, but he probably feels the need
So this means they might view Williams or Overshown as playing the hybrid role. I think we are going to expose him to a lot more physical punishment. And judging how he looked exhausted for the last quarter of the season, I am not sure this is all that wise.
