I mean I like the player but it is an interesting question. We are a big traits team. If his dad doesn't work here as a scout, do we consider a RB like that?
I'm just gonna assume it wasn't a coincidence.

I think some NFL teams don't care about size. Dallas seems like they always have. We haven't drafted a ton of RBs so it's hard to really show a track record but Mike Weber was pretty good sized, Bo Scarbrough was a big boy, Zeke was big and Pollard who probably seems like the smallest of the group was still 6 foot 210 pounds.

Now we draft Duece Vaughn. But in the end I don't care. I like the player and even if he was on the radar for other reasons, he is a great football player. And those other late round traits RB's were shit.

OMG he dissed Tony Romo.

Both Aikman and Staubach had the benefit of playing before the Jerry Jones dumpster fire. Aikman won two of the three on Jimmy Johnson-built teams. Staubach won his when the franchise was run by people who actually knew what the fuck they were doing. It's almost not fair to expect a QB to win with Jerry's ball and chain around his ankle.

Had we taken him ridiculously early in the draft then the nepotism thing might hold water but we didn’t he was a late 6th.

I don't even care if it was a nepotism thing if the result is correct. That's all I'm saying. Maybe it caused the Cowboys to view RB a little differently for once.

You have to include Jones in the Jimmy Johnson era. Sad, I know, but we named a podcast in honor of “them 3 Super Bowls “.

Crapper could easily beat out all of them, although it'd be nice if Tolbert could show signs of not being retarded.

I mean Cropper has some legit route running ability. I've been watching some of his highlights. It's stuff that guys like Fehoko or Tolbert have never shown the ability to do. Frankly, I'm not sure I have seen that type of great route running out of Gallup either...

I hope for Tolbert but until I see it against a defensive back it's going to be really hard to have much faith in him. Fehoko is going into his third year, so it's now or never for him in my opinion. If he doesn't have it by now he never will.

Sanders really has no room to talk since he basically cleaned out Jackson State of all players on scholarship.
He literally just ran away from a HBCU because the players weren't good enough.

Wouldn't that be a coup

Bring him into Dallas-- RB solved for the next four seasons

No. He wants to get PAID. Unless you're willing to break the bank for him he'd be unhappy here too. And you'd be breaking the bank for him beginning at age 28 when historically RBs begin to decline. No thanks.

Not to mention he wouldn't get on the field behind deuce Vaughn. :art

It is simply not the same as it was like it was in the 1960s and 1970s where the Steelers would just joust with the Cowboys over those prospects.

I don't understand where Sanders believes for a damn minute that HBCUs can have viable football programs. He just raped the one he came from and now the whole Colorado program is in a state of shock. I kind of hope he fails there in a big way.
