Jerry says the same tired shit about the coaching staff every year. How he's excited. Blah, blah, blah. And he'll say it again next year. And the year after that. And the year after that. And so on... Regardless of who the coaching staff actually is.

It's not like Jerry can drop an ultimatum and tell his coach if he doesn't make the playoffs he is gone. That would be ridiculous pressure to put on a coach and create even more of a circus atmosphere. Hell if Jerry just says no comment the world would blow up that he is basically giving an ultimatum. So I really don't think he had any choice but that answer.
