I thought we were working as a team here.Fuse would have been fine if it weren't for that pesky thermostat.
And fuse. Let's not discount my contribution.
Turns out @jsmith6919 was right. I don't have a Trane system, mine is a Carrier, but the fuse was inside the unit. I checked last night but didn't notice it. At least now I know where to look going forward.
That's the type mine has too, tho they're the orange onesdang, I missed this thread, did the fuse look like this:

my system shuts down when this fuse breaks so I keep a few on hand for an easy fix
True but replacing the thermostat and not the fuse would have led to the same problem...Fuse would have been fine if it weren't for that pesky thermostat.
My bad. homie. Good job detecting the problem!!!!!!!!I thought we were working as a team here.
The fuse would never have blown to begin with if the thermostat was correct.True but replacing the thermostat and not the fuse would have led to the same problem...
Yep that's the one. I went through about 3 or 4 before I figured out what the problem was.dang, I missed this thread, did the fuse look like this:

This is correct. The fuse would never have blown to begin with if the thermostat was correct.
About FACE, mf'er!
Funny this just happened to me. Pulled it apart, saw dead ants on the contactor after trouble shooting some stuff. Used compressed air to clean it out and boomed worked like a charm. Never had that happen in my life but with 90-100 degree weather I'm very thankful to not have to wait for a repair guy.Yeah apparently the ant thing happens enough I got a contact cleaner from a AC tech buddy that actually had a picture of dead ants on it
I once lost water to my entire house due to a single blade of grass in the contactor.Funny this just happened to me. Pulled it apart, saw dead ants on the contactor after trouble shooting some stuff.
