Best collection of names in quite some time.I'm just glad the field is full of recognizable names for a change.

I think they've underachieved as well but canning Cheeks halfway through his first season isn't the answer.Detroit fires Mo Cheeks halfway through his first season. Not sure what that's all about.
I don't think they have underachieved...the team was horribly put together. Giving Smith that big deal and having him play SF is beyond retarded.I think they've underachieved as well but canning Cheeks halfway through his first season isn't the answer.
I think they have enough talent where they should at least be a 5 seed with a .500 record in the East.
Dumars had a nice run his first few years as GM but he's been pretty bad since. Especially when it's come to coach hires.
I'm pulling for the Mavs to hang on to that 8th seed. OKC should be able to dispatch the Mavs in 4 or 5 games.
I wish we were that good at tanking.Impressive display of tanking by the Sixers with back to back 40+ point losses.
Not gonna happen with your coach.I wish we were that good at tanking.
Of all the teams that would be considered legitimate contenders in the West, San Antonio is the one team the Rockets have done well against. Can't believe there are still people out there who consider the Spurs legitimate title contenders. I just read the latest 5 on 5 on ESPN.com and one of the writers is still clinging to the notion that a healthy Spurs team can beat OKC and come out of the West. Skip Bayless has pretty much echoed those same sentiments.
Here's the thing, and Charles Barkley said it best, older players don't get better/healthy, they get injured. I know the Spurs have some young pieces but they guys who they are counting on to do the heavy lifting come playoff time are either old or have a lot of mileage on their legs.
Also, aside from 1 win against the Chris Paul-less Clippers team, have the Spurs actually beaten a top contender in the Western Conference. OKC has beat them 3 times already with the last game to be played in OKC.
I think the Clippers and the Rockets are the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the West, IMO. I don't think the Spurs could beat either of those teams in a playoff series.
