Looks like Marvel is done. Latest Captain America getting savaged in reviews.
A lot of people don’t want to go to the movies anymore. Finally got tired of $15 tickets and $10 popcorn. TVs have gotten to the point of being basically as good as sitting in the theatre. And you don’t have to deal with garbage human beings. They also improved the release time to home video/streaming. So you don’t even have to be patient for as long to see it at home.

Agree. I just got a 77” tv on my wall. I don’t need to wade through the idiot masses to see any movie.

I really only go to get my kids out of the house. That and the movie theater popcorn. I have a popcorn maker but I have yet to perfect the taste to be as good as at the movie theater.

I'm not there to watch a movie. I'm there so my little kids can go see some movie I don't even want to watch. While drinking some overpriced slurpee.

Watched Long Legs? I thought it looked killer on the new OLED TV and the surround sound definitely took it up a notch. It's weird but in a good way.

I thought it was all right. Don't know that I will ever watch it a second time.

Has the quality of movies diminished, have we crossed a line finally with Cinema not being worth it, or something else?

There isn't anything that I "have" to see in the theater any longer. I used to watch anything star wars, Marvel, most superheroes and a good bit of action, and thriller/suspense movies. Last thing we saw in theater was Deadpool and Wolverine but Deadpool is my favorite character. I have always had some patience when it came to waiting for things to come out on DVD/Blu-Ray/streaming but now that times are down to 90-120 days rather than 6-8 months it makes it a lot easier. Plus my buddy and his plex account often get things before the streaming sites do.

Movies are so bad now we may have to make a Movies Nostalgia thread.

What year was the last most impactful movie to you made?

Mine was 2011.

How would you define a movie as being 'impactful'? I've watched some very good, entertaining movies but none that I would define as being capable of changing any aspect of my life.

Isn't it easier to name the movie instead of the year?
Well, when my point was movies suck ass now, no, not really.

But I can say the last movie that made my list is Drive, which came out in 2011.
