I doubt he cares.I wonder how good Schottenheimer feels about himself when the owner keeps emphasizing how much of a risk it was to hire him.
Right. Finally a head coach. Making 2 mil per year or so. Life is good for those with no pride.I doubt he cares.
He's happy just being a stooge with a HC job.
In case anyone is interested. Jerry held an interview after the press conference because obviously he doesn't get enough camera time.
Yeah guy with no shot at a head coaching job got one. I'm sure he is just thrilled to be able to say he is a head coach.Right. Finally a head coach. Making 2 mil per year or so. Life is good for those with no pride.

Seriously though, I've always argued that Jerry isn't losing it, that he's always been this same football idiot. But now I think he is losing it. Every answer to every question is about when he bought the Cowboys. They always said he could sell ice to eskimos, etc, but now he can't keep it together long enough to even try to do that.
One other thing in that post PC scrum he said again, several times, that he's taken more risk the last five years than when he bought the team. And he loves talking about how the Cowboys were "too expensive" for him to buy when he did it. Makes me wonder if there really could be some financial issues with him? It is possible no matter how rich you are to push the envelope too much and get in trouble.
Is that right? I thought it said he contributed to the 200 mil inauguration, as in that was the cost of the whole thing. Not that he contributed that much.I was starting to think that was possibly true until I saw that he contributed $200 million to the inauguration. That could buy the salary of the entire team for a year.
This is right. He didn't give 200 million. The inauguration cost 200 milIs that right? I thought it said he contributed to the 200 mil inauguration, as in that was the cost of the whole thing. Not that he contributed that much.
But maybe I saw it wrong.
I mean based on the part of the PC I watched today he isn't an x's and o's guy at all. He is a touchy feely coach. Now I will say, WCO, Texas Coast Offense, McVay, Shannahan or whoever, they all have the same plays anymore. There isn't really an innovation in that. But it's all about how you call them and when you call them. Like Shannahan runs a ton of motion and misdirection with those plays. I really have no idea what Shannahan is going to do, but he was an OC long before he was the OC for McCarthy. So I don't think the offense will necessarily look the same. But I don't think you'll see him do anything revolutionary either. This is a guy who may work hard but he isn't going to outsmart people either.Sports Illustrated: What was the point of moving on from McCarthy to promote his offensive coordinator? Is something going to change schematically with another branch off the West Coast tree? Is game management supposed to improve with a first-time head coach? I'm sure Schottenheimer has some new ideas and can modernize in some ways, but there's a reason he has been a lifelong offensive coordinator. Schottenheimer is not viewed as a frontier-pushing head coaching candidate.
