The good news is that at this point, any coach hired could in theory be the last coach Jerry ever hires.

Even 5 years ago when he hired McCarthy that was not a great bet.

He was 77 then. He’s 82 now. Another 5 years? Might be all we have left.
Ah, but that's why he wants Witten as part of the deal, so that he gets credit for two future head coaches. :picard

I totally get that. I don't want him either. You get the Mike McDaniel feeling from him where he's just an X and O guy who players won't really respect.

I do think he wouldn't be as bad as Garrett, though. At least Kellen has done enough for other teams to want to hire him and isn't just here because his daddy was an ass-kissing mediocrity for Jerry when he first bought the team. Plus he's not a phony Ivy League used car salesman.
I'd pick Moore over Garrett. Moore doesn't have that fake, cheesy, bullshit about him like Garrett. And for a guy who was supposedly smart Garrett was terrible at running an offense.

That only matters if he intends to sell the team. You cant count on it just being Jerry behind this nonsense. I really doubt Stephen is capable of doing anything other than the status quo.

If you're going to develop a coach I'd pick a bright minority. Just saying, would be nice to finally take advantage of the system for once.

What type of inheritance tax will these yokels have to pay when Jerry dies? It can't be cheap.

Also, I don't get why people even think Deion is a good coach. He only did anything in college because he was able to recruit good talent. He "turned around" Colorado not by coaching up players who were there, but by changing out almost the entire roster in a year, which he obviously can't do in the NFL. He had two top-five picks including the Heisman winner on his CU team and was ranked 18 or whatever, and that playing in a mediocre conference. I don't see it at all at the pro level where talent is much more equal.

That nuisance is only for the poors and mids.
It's an issue I've heard about with NFL teams and their owners passing away.

The other hope is that you have some sort of a power struggle between different factions of the family. It's not like Stephen is just going to get ownership of the team. They sure as shit won't leave out the other kiddos. Well except maybe the unclaimed girl.

I mean I think Moore is smart. He probably gets more disdain on here than he deserves and has more ability when it comes to designing plays then he gets credit for. Obviously at least two other NFL teams think he has done a good enough job to consider him for their head coaching jobs.

With that being said, I just don't think he has the personality for a head coaching job. He would give zero push back to anything Jerry wants to do. I'm not even sure Jerry would respect his opinion on anything.

Deion would be a deeply flawed choice but for different reasons. He is a Jerry like salesman when it comes to creating publicity but I don't think he has any real x and o's ability. I don't he has any sense of strategy or ability to build a cohesive team. He just knows how to throw a bunch of really talented guys out on the field and get them to play. I think he would have way more influence over Jerry but that might not be a good thing in this case because I don't think he has any idea how to build a really good team.
This is it. It all boils down to Jerry. We'll always have the circus. But Deion will magnify it tenfold.

Sure, Moore will bend to Jerry's will. But anybody that thinks Deion won't is fooling themselves. How many times does Jerry have to say "I make all final decisions"? Because it's true.

They both are terrible choices.

It's going to be him and they're trying to feel out DC/OC candidates with guys like Saleh, Frazier and these Redskins assistants. Brian Johnson and Anthony Lynn are obviously not serious HC candidats but I could see them being an OC's under Moore.

I was mostly just joking, but yeah, I thought the problem was usually more with family members squabbling over the assets and having to sell to split them up.

I think that's a huge, huge point.
