Forgive the clutter pictures of this kitchen. It’s ugly as fuck, but the poor guy was trying to empty everything out for us a week or so out of heart surgery.

I wasn’t able to get great before pics due to the clutter of the previously small kitchen. I had my back up against the wall just just get the shitty shot I have.

Should be finished with grouting and appliances tomorrow, so I’ll have some better pics. Don’t judge the color scheme, it’s not what I would have picked.

This is what Daddy does for a living.
Instant fail since there are no Ryobi tools in the pictures.

Is it safe to store a full tank of propane (like a 20 lb Blue Rhino tank for grilling) under a deck, when the deck has lattice on all sides except the house side (so 3/4 sides) and one of those sides is a lattice door that can open and close and I can walk under the deck standing up?

What's the consensus on Ryobi tools? Do we actually like them, hence the meme, or is it making fun of them for being entry level crap?

I've been getting some Ryobi tools lately.

They are fine for working small projects around the house. I think people just bash them because their name isn't Dewalt but for the projects I think that you are probably doing they will be fine.

I've had several pieces for years with no problem.

They’re fine (along with other cheaper brands like Hart, Black and Decker, etc) for home use and smaller projects. They wouldn’t hold up to a contractor’s needs, but should be just fine for your needs.

Ryobi is fine but I'd at least pay a little more and buy Ridgid if you want to stick with Home Depot. I know some yard tools etc they don't offer in Ridgid, but for your basics like drills, saws, etc. Ridgid will hold up better.

My dad always said buy the best tools you can the first time, and he was right.

I guess the other way of looking at it though is the Ryobi is fine now and if you get more into things you can buy the better ones later. The batteries don't last forever anyway.

As long as your tank isn’t in danger of being banged around and the valve being compromised, that will be fine.

My dad use to say that too but then again he said that back in the day when craftsman stuff was the best.

@Sheik I meant to ask earlier, but on the countertops... I need to do mine and was going to get some slabs of granite at Floor and Decor and go for it. Probably 500 or so vs a couple grand (or more) to pay someone.

Would it be that hard to just use one of those saws that looks like a mini skilsaw with a cutting wheel and go for it? In all honesty, this isn't some high end house and if it weren't perfect I think it would be fine. Of course I don't want some hacked together junk, either.

I will say this… whichever brand you choose, stick with it unless you are going with corded. A lot of tools are sold now without the batteries, (maybe it’s just the higher end tools like Milwaukee, Makita, DeWalt, etc)and they are not compatible with each other. And the batteries are expensive. So you could have a bunch of different tools and only a couple batteries/chargers and make it work.

I’m sure you could pull it off and be happy with the overall result.

If it’s being cut around a sink that isn’t an under mount, I’d watch some videos of buffing and polishing.

Yeah this is why I have all Dewalt. The batteries can be very expensive

Same here. My only different brands are corded.
Yeah like my miter saw and table saw are different but that's because I went corded on those. Seemed silly to have batteries for those based on my situation.

I love Ryobi tools and have been using them for 20 years.

The batteries used to really suck, but they've gotten more dependable.

I work on my own shit at home and Ryobis are just fine. If I was using them daily mayne they wouldn't hold up well, but I am using the same original circular saw and drill that I bought 20 years ago. Have remodeled several rooms of our house, built all kind of shelves and book cases, 15 years of pallet haunted houses.

You don't need to pay twice as much for a yellow or red drill, fuck that nonsense.

Can't vouch for the lawnmowers but Ryobi 40v yard tools - saws, blowers and trimmers are legit.

Same. I started out with their cheapest weed eater, and it sucked. But the 40v one is really good, as is the blower.

I even had a mower that was pretty good for what it was. Not as heavy duty as I ended up needing, but for your average guy without a big yard, it was perfectly fine.
