Kind of knew this was coming…

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams was arrested by Frisco police Sunday night on charges of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful carrying of a weapon, per a police department spokesperson.

The controlled substance charge, for alleged possession of marijuana, is a low-level state felony and the unlawful carrying of a weapon is a misdemeanor, according to Frisco police.

Williams, 24, played in the Cowboys’ 22-14 loss in Seattle on Saturday. He returned with the team early Sunday morning.

The Cowboys declined to comment through a spokesman. The team is aware of the arrest.

I don't think he'll get any serious punishment, maybe a 2-4 game suspension at most, but the guy is clearly a combustible idiot. He can't be relied on to be a successor to Lawrence, he isn't as bad as Gregory obviously but he's quickly working himself into the "found money" category where you can't truly count on him in your long term plans.

another second round gem :picard
And a classic in that Jerry personally pushed hard for him even though he likely didn't go higher because of these personal issues.

Pretty sure Quinn was pushing really hard for him too. He's nowhere near the level of Gregory but he's just becoming an unreliable nuisance, trouble seems to find him.

Well apparently their extensive research on him involved a sexual assault, which his talent trumped.

This is a little more impactful as it is a character issue, just a different kind. The dude just finished playing a game and what, within 12 hours gets arrested with both guns and weed? That is a lifestyle and a clear demonstration of his immaturity.

It is weird that in Texas it is a low level felony to have weed yet the unlicensed firearm is no big deal.

Why is it so hard not to have a licensed firearm? Why does a person have to get one illegally?

We knew he was at high risk for this sort of thing, but it is disappointing nonetheless.

I'm not real sure what is going on. Texas is now a constitutional carry state. You don't have to have a license to carry.

When people were saying he was a great pick, or saying he was going to be the successor to Lawrence, or that he was breaking out this year, he was NEVER mentioned as a Jerry guy.

But now... :lol Come on, CL. You're better than this.
