From what I can tell your view on the CB situation is that because in a 1:1 comparison Jones is a better player than Lewis or Brown that we're in a bad situation or that your freak out is warranted. Building rosters in the NFL is all about trade offs and risk mitigation, sure, Jones/Awuzie/Lewis is better than Awuzie/Lewis/Brown, but to me the drop off isn't so drastic that we need to be panic monkeys about it, and I certainly think that we'd have a deeper and possibly overall better group of CB's if we draft one anywhere in the first 3-4 rounds.Money is a separate issue from the quality of player and level of play.
No, you couldn't actually. You're still talking about an unproven rookie vs a Pro Bowl caliber player.
Disagree. Chaisson is too much of a projection for me at #17.
Good thing I'm not doing that. I'm saying defense - and an entire side of the football - would provide better value. But if the Pittman situation comes along in round 4 after I've added three good defensive players? Sure, count me in! But at that point, it's about great depth, not front line starters. Need has to factor in somewhere.
If a quarterback like Herbert is there at #17 are the Cowboys drafting him?
He was suspended by then no?Nothing wrong with a little optimism.
Just remember that Gregory was also out there when the Rams ran for 273 yards in the playoffs.
Pissed and lashing out adequately sums up his board contribution right about now.I don't think this guy is a huge Zoner, I think he genuinely believed that the front office was going to aggressively look to upgrade the roster and spend on top tier free agents, and now he's pissed and lashing out at anyone saying it's not that bad.
No, he did end up playing those games. He was suspended by then no?
KInda like our very own Idgit-lite, with the ability to swear.Pissed and lashing out adequately sums up his board contribution right about now.
I saw better ball skills, anticipation and timing/positioning in that 2 minute video than I've seen out of our safeties in about 10 years.
Yeah he definitely has some ballhawking ability. Again, give me Snacks and I probably feel good aboit this defense.I saw better ball skills, anticipation and timing/positioning in that 2 minute video than I've seen out of our safeties in about 10 years.
He may be a shitty tackler but 16 INT's plus another 3 in the playoffs over 6 years is very impressive, especially considering I doubt that all our safeties combined have accounted for that many INT's over the last decade.
]I was just going by the criteria set by you. YOU are the one that is going strictly off of sack numbers. I figured you would appreciate that.
Also, just because you apparently like to say you are "kicking ass" doesn't make it so. Does provide a bit of comedic relief, tho. So thanks for that.
I did. Check yourself. You got 'fact-smacked' and you didn't like it. You gave your unsupported opinion about Lawrence's double team numbers and didn't like getting corrected. And tantrums? Did you just say tantrums? You should reread the thread and pay attention to where the tantrums are popping up. Again, thanks for the laffs. The zone is strong in this one.
Where is this 'freak out' you speak of? Is admitting the obvious, that Jones is a better overall player than Lewis now labeled as 'freaking out'?From what I can tell your view on the CB situation is that because in a 1:1 comparison Jones is a better player than Lewis or Brown that we're in a bad situation or that your freak out is warranted.
Good thing then that nobody is.Building rosters in the NFL is all about trade offs and risk mitigation, sure, Jones/Awuzie/Lewis is better than Awuzie/Lewis/Brown, but to me the drop off isn't so drastic that we need to be panic monkeys about it,
I do and I will, thanks.and I certainly think that we'd have a deeper and possibly overall better group of CB's if we draft one anywhere in the first 3-4 rounds.
Feel free to disagree, it makes no difference to me.
So they wouldn't be taking 'best player available' no matter what then? Good. That's exactly my point regarding the receivers. Need does factor in.As for Herbert, if he were there they'd be idiotic to not trade down and extract more value of the pick unless you feel like there is a massive steal available elsewhere, like Kinlaw or a Jeudy/Lamb.
While I do thank you for finally making even some attempt at research, the two conversations are unrelated. Nice try, and I appreciate you making at least some effort nonetheless.Stasheroo at post #952: Money isn't part of the debate.

Like I said, we need LBers. We've already signed 3 lbers...
So, you could have simply said you agree with my list of needs.I'm cool with Sanders but I'd rather get a real NT first. That position really worries me. And before I get the typical Schmitty respnse that we basically are the same at DT as last year. First of all that's not true. Second of all we were god awful last year at stopping the run in games. And we actually need to get better. Not worse.
Yeah pretty much. Slot reciever doesn't even concern me that much but I recognize Sanders, Gallup and Cooper would be a pretty stellar trio of weapons. So, you could have simply said you agree with my list of needs.
I welcome you to look at the game again, if you have a strong enough stomach. While yes, there were other culprits, Crawford front and center among them, Gregory was terrible as well, arguably the worst of all.He was suspended by then no?
Never mind looks like he played but didn't start. Still I'm guessing most of those runs were against Crawford and our shit DTs from what I remember.
