"When it matters"?

We're almost certainly going to have to play them again in the playoffs if we want to make the Super Bowl, this game is important but this sure as shit isn't "when it matters".

It matters because Dallas has been beaten by the same team in two consecutive playoff scenarios. If they lose to the same team now, even early in the regular season, it sets a tone, continues a pattern.

It might not matter that much with another team, but it matters with the 49ers. The takeaway is, "We own you."

I think this team is better than the ones the 9ers have beaten in the playoffs.

Not only did we do that in January, we also completely made Deebo a non-factor.

We can do it again.

If Dak doesn't shit the bed, we win this week just like we would have won in January had he not fucked it up.
Yep.

Also, this is McCarthy's first real opportunity to prove that shedding Kellen Moore was the right move to make. This is a huge week for McCarthy and Dak.

They're good, we're good, I think generally speaking almost any game between us would be a coin flip barring one team getting the favor of a bunch of penalties/turnovers.
This is probably my biggest concern heading into this game.

I haven't been able to find which officiating crew has been assigned to this game but hopefully we don't get one of those flag happy crews with a history of being heavy-handed towards the Cowboys.

You'd think the league should consider this as well. No one wants to see games ruined by flag happy officials. This particular issue should be fresh in their minds after that weak holding penalty called on Sauce Gardner that essentially cost the Jets the game. That was on national TV too. Not a good look for the league.

Or if Diggs does not drop the gimmie INT. Or if Turpin can just somehow avoid Robbie Fucking Gould in the open field. Stuff like that too.
Adding to the list: Malik Davis derailing a potential TD drive late in the game with his shitty pass pro skills

I hadn't really noticed this before. Why the hell is Neville Gallimore the primary defender covering Kittle on this infamous play?

Obviously something went terribly wrong for that to have happened.

The camera fixation on Purdy doesn’t help. You can’t see how Gallimore ends up pursuing Kittle.

I think I remember this being discussed at the time. I don't think there was any satisfactory answer but no matter how you want to spin it, it's a tough look for a defense.

Here's a better angle. Kittle gets lost by the defense and Gallimore recognizes that he's uncovered and does his best to make up for the defensive lapse of others.

I don't think Lamb deserves to get paid in that 30M/year range, something around 25-28 seems fair, but if they push up to about 30 it better be over a longer term deal where they can spread it out, at least 5 if not 6 years.
