Was just listening to a Fan spot from yesterday and Broaddus has Revel at #12 overall player (they double-checked to make sure they heard that right) and Burden at #10 overall. That's his rankings, not where he thinks the teams will take them.
I mean I get that they are his personal opinions and those are sometimes going to differ from what the reality on draft day is going to be. But his opinions usually suck, so there is that.
Like if I were coming up with a ranking I'm not going to put Mykel Williams high on my rankings just because I think an NFL team is going to make a mistake on him. I'd put him where I think he belongs and on draft day some other NFL team is going to make the mistake and not me. To me he is a second round type DE.
It's why when someone says Golden is a 15-20 type talent, I say list the 14 guys you'd rather have than Golden? I can't do it. It doesn't really matter where he would get drafted in a different draft class. What matters are this draft class and this team. I'm not taking Jalon Walker over Golden for example. I'm not taking Colston Loveland over him. I'm not taking Will Johnson over him.
Where it gets interesting is if you get into the Tyler Warren's or Will Campbell's. Guys that most have as top 10 talents. I don't really think either is a great fit for us. But if I was a different NFL team I might view those guys as better fits and have them higher than say Golden. I guess someone could say, that's not BPA. But don't you sort of set your list according to your NFL team? Not every player is a perfect fit for the scheme and situation of every NFL team. Nothing against Warren (I'm not as high on Will Campbell) I think he is a stellar TE. But I don't think he compliments Ferguson, he doesn't really add a dynamic element to our offense and I just think a player like Golden or McMillan would have a bigger impact for this team.
