It's best to tune out over the next 4-5 days, the last time they did this shit with Garrett I don't think they acknowledged that Garrett wouldn't be back for about a full week.

Minnesota had momentum going into the half. Until their braindead kicker kicked it out of bounds with 20 seconds. Detroit promptly scores 3 points and regains momentum. Ouch.

I think I agree with this, there's been too many subtle indicators that Jerry is comfortable bringing McCarthy (and probably Zimmer) back.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jerry wants to twist McCarthy's arm into giving up play calling to someone like Wes Phillips.

McCarthy is a blubbering puppet who is fine with being emasculated every time Jerry opens his mouth, which is exactly what Jerry wants. There’s no way in hell that any strong willed coach would want to come to Dallas after seeing what that empty headed carnival barker did with Jimmy and Parcells, and Jerry won’t hire a young guy because he’s not a forward thinker.

Was in the car yesterday so heard a lot of the talk pre- and post-game with Sham and David Moore and people who know things. Moore said he's heard Jerry genuinely likes Mike and would like to bring him back, but other people in the building don't want that. Not sure who that would be but Stephen? McClay?

Sham and Broaddus had all kinds of innuendo going about working with Jerry. They both admitted it was unique working here. Sham was mad at Marcus Spears saying good coaches wouldn't want to come here bc of Jerry, saying Marcus had no idea how things worked in the front office. But then he'd admit things could be difficult. They both spoke of the "prisoner swap" firing of assistant coaches that went on last year... "You want to fire Leon Lett, okay, then Rob Davis has to go." So bizarre... Why would any owner be like that?

I wish they'd have fleshed things out more, especially Sham. It felt like reading a Hos and SDogo conversation where they're hearing things but won't let you know. :(

The problem with this rationale is that Jerry is trying to force a shit contract on McCarthy, which is why he was also talking about an incentive based contract.

Which means there's still a chance McCarthy doesn't accept the terms of the deal and walks.
Him and his shit bird son seem to enjoy trying to squeeze blood from a stone during negotiations (i.e. FA for Stephen) just for the sake of it.

There's no real significant benefit to it, it's like they just do it to make themselves feel like real good, smart businessmen.

You're not out here negotiating with the CCP's state-owned corporations dummies, this is a fucking football team.

It could only be Stephen or McClay, nobody else has enough influence for it to be notable.

What I'd be more curious about is who these other people in the organization would have in mind for a replacement.

Ultimately if they give McCarthy a 2, maybe even 3 year deal, it's not the end of the world given the stupid shit this organization is capable of.
If this organization did things the right way, I'd be completely in favor of moving on.

But because they don't, I would much rather bring McCarthy back than to see who the hell these morons hire in the end.
