Even if we lose next week we'll probably be at Carolina and then maybe even Tampa or Washington at home.

We're definitely not losing out, although it's hard to imagine them winning more than 2 more.
I admit I did forget about Carolina. They're so bad, maybe we beat them. I do think we lose the rest, though.

It's like ... I don't even know you anymore.
Don't get me wrong. We're a bad team with a backup QB. The better teams like Philly and Washington will stomp us.

Just saying that as we get healthier and aren't so bad, the players can buy in and get a little enthusiasm and play above their heads for a short time.

I still think we lose to Cincy, the negativity returns, the focus goes back to firing MM, and we spiral.

Also, fellas, I still can't get over how stupid that Mingo trade was. I know, it's Jerry and all that, but even for him, how dumb was that? A fourth rounder. And where do you even play the guy? They probably don't want him ahead of Tolbert, so you gave a fourth for a fourth WR? And one that as far as I can tell doesn't even play special teams like WRs down the line have to?

They'd probably say it wasn't just for this year. Okay, fine, then why do it at the trade deadline when you're having to pay more? And even if Cooks is gone next year, I still don't see him as good enough to fit in -- not good enough for a #2, too expensive (pick-wise) for a #3.

And that's if he can even play at all, which I'm betting he can't.

Just so stupid. :ballpunch

The defense has looked very different with Bland and Parsons back. I wouldn't be shocked if we keep seeing that side play better.

Rush is still a turd. But we may see more of a capable run game with strictly Dowdle now. Not saying he is good. But the run game is better as of late also.

I disagree with that. A fourth rounder for a good slot receiver is a very reasonable price.

I'm just not sure Mingo is a good slot receiver. I haven't seen anything to indicate he is. I honestly think more of our other receivers at this point. And ultimately we badly need a #2 receiver after this year.

Tolbert to me is a decent third receiver but I haven't seen enough good from him to pair him with Lamb as a starter.

Do you require an explanation once more how important draft grades are?

Keep in mind they paid a 4th for a backup QB who they either refuse to play or he isn't good enough to beat out Rush.

Either way, it seems like they hate having 4th roumders for some.reason

The really sad part is you can get a really good RB in the mid to high fourth. It's the one position I can say that with confidence.

I actually think they are a pretty good team and would probably beat us the second time. I do like that QB.

Skins might be eliminated before kickoff, but yeah, it's a winnable game for them. Cincy is schizo this year. Wouldn't automatically count on us being blown out.

They're slightly better because we're playing a backup QB, otherwise they're a fluke hail mary away from only being 1 game ahead of us in the standings with said backup QB.

They'd probably be a slight favorite, and they should beat us assuming we have nothing to play for, but aside from the QB situation they definitely don't have the better team.

Just thought it was a funny thing to say, for them to stomp us. Considering we just handled them pretty easily. A week ago. On their field.

I agree with that. If we were healthy and Dak were playing pretty well -- not like he was this year before he got hurt -- I think we'd be pretty close, with us probably having an edge.

I'm also factoring in that I think we'll be completely out of it by then with tons of negative vibes -- more like we were a few weeks ago -- and they'll still be in it and enthused. Next year they shouldn't be better than us, or if so only slightly.

You mean like when fans and media were talking about Dallas having a top 5 pick, tanking, discussing whether or not they should fire McCarthy immediately because he’d lost the team, riding a 5 game losing streak, home futility streak, etc…. While the skins were at home, contending for the division title and were favored by 10.5 pts over their #1 hated rival?
