So, let's wait to see if he has another great year so we will have to pay him more? I don't know why I even read anything they say anymore.
They have him ummm under control for 3 more years. See there is the fifth year option and then you can franchise him twice.

Maybe I've missed it, but has Parsons said somewhere that he wants to sign another deal now? Is this the team or him that's holding off on it? Is it possible the team has approached him, and he hasn't shown interest, thinking he can sign for more if he has a big season?
Honestly Parsons has basically said he isn't worried about a contract. The front office would actually need to be proactive to get something done early. I seriously doubt they have been very proactive with Lamb and Dak sort putting on the full court pressure.

That's what I'm saying. If Parson's not worried about it, maybe he just wants to wait until next year. If he doesn't want to resign early, there's nothing the team can do about it.

But, why wait?
Yeah it was a joke. It's something Stephen mentioned during the offseason actually. Like he was really letting the world know about a super special thing no one knows about called the franchise tag.

I think Zimmer's work ethic is about as good as it gets in the NFL. And I'm glad because despite a great performance the defense can still get better.
As much as I liked the energy of Quinn’s defenses, you always had a sense that discipline was sometimes sacrificed for making a play. He brings that I will get in your ass attitude that you knew did not come from Camo Hat.

I don't want to hate on Quinn because I think he is a really good defensive coordinator. When things are going good it's amazing how good his defense can look. If you can get an offense to become one dimensional it's almost scary how good his pass rushes were and how the turnover would come in bunches. But I think the problem was when a team could stay balanced and run the ball the wheels would just sort of fall off. When the turnovers aren't coming, that defense was very vulnerable. And on top of that he is a guy who I think struggled to keep players grounded. You imagine Parcells and his constant belittling of players to try to keep them grounded Quinn is almost the opposite. He'd let you think you're the greatest pass rusher of all time, or that you're a "Hot Boy." But those defenses would get full of themselves thinking they are the greatest ever and then they would get in a real battle and fold. Like we saw against the Packers last year.

Yup.... Well said and I agree with all of it.

It was fun to watch his defenses create all that pressure and get all those turnovers after what felt like an eternity of never having defenses that could do either.

But we sacrificed being sound fundamentally in order to achieve those things and that's why we were never great against the run during that span.

That coupled with what you mentioned in regards to his accountability or lack thereof were his biggest flaws. And when we paid for them, we paid big.

I think I saw a stat before week 1 that said Dallas was 12-1 when generating 1 or more turnovers... 0-4 when they generated 0 turnovers.
I mean the defense would give up yards and it was like we were all jist waiting for a sack fumble or INT to get a stop at times. Truly a defense that lived and died by the negative play. And it created a lot of negative plays.
