Dak's clutch drive came after the Garrett Wilson TD. 10-7 and last drive was 3 n out. Running game sputtering. Cant afford another 3 n out to surging Jets. Certainly the TD was helped out by the Roughing QB penalties, but Dak had already driven them into the scoring position and disrupted Jets momentum before that.

This drive and the opening drive to the game showed me all I need to see to know that we can turn it up a notch if need be. Both drives were called and executed great, with the game in the balance. The opening drive is obvious, as we didn't know what to expect yet. And the drive above, Phil explained already. I have zero problem with going conservative for the majority of the game, mainly because for the majority of the game, we were in control.
It amazes me how many people are whining about poor play calling and "settling for FGs" by being too conservative. After watching this offense for YEARS under Garrett and Moore put up gaudy numbers, but never showing the ability to be smart about situational football. And no doubt, complaining about it then.
But think about this... Even with being mostly conservative, we had put up 24 pts against one of the league's best defenses midway thru the 3rd quarter. And put up 30 total with an offense that was pretty much idling to kill time and run it out from that point on. 30 pts is pretty damn good for an offense that is running wide open all game. Especially considering the caliber defense we were playing.
