It's not like I said he's dogshit. I gave him his due. But he's had help. A LOT of help doing what he's done. I just wouldn't put him in my top five all time QBs. And that, to me, is an all timer. The greatest of the greats.
Which Top 10 QB had less help than Mahomes - Marino, Brees, Brady, Elway pre-1998. There can’t be too many.

Montana, Aikman, Staubach, Young, Favre, Peyton, Rodgers all had comparable, if not stronger, supporting casts.

Why hasn’t Gracie Hunt joined the Taylor Swift Brittany Mahomes hoopla? An influencer herself, you’d think she’d reap benefits from the exposure. She was all about the limelight last year. For sure, she’s the most attractive of the three.

Who are your top five? Everyone else can answer, too.
Never really put a lot of thought into it, but just off the top of my head I'd say (in no particular order) Staubach, Elway, Montana, Marino and it pains me to say this, but Brady. There are arguments for others, for sure. But again, that's without really putting much thought into it. I maybe could be talked into taking somebody like Peyton Manning over Brady. But it is hard to argue his success. But these are guys I'd choose if given the choice to build my team around.

Again, not trying to take anything away from Mahomes. He's an elite talent. But I just think today's game is too skewed towards the passing game. It makes my head spin to think about what a guy like Marino or Elway could have done with today's rules, and not spending their careers being mauled every week. And having their WRs violated from snap to whistle.

Including this season's two playoff games, Mahomes playoff career has a full season's worth of starts (16).
  • 13-3 playoff record
  • 392/587 (67% completion), 4561 yards, 38TD, 7 INT for 106.7 QB rating and 8.5 AY/A
  • Average game 25/37 for 285 yards, 2.5 TD, 0.5 INT
  • Comeback wins from 21-0, 10-0
  • Super Bowl comeback wins 20-10 to San Fran, 24-14 to Philadelphia
  • In 13 wins, only 2 games with 100+ yards rusher. Only 5 games with 80+ yards rusher
  • In 13 wins, defense allowed average 22.5 points per game. Only 3 wins with defense allowing 19 points or less
  • 3-2 record when defense allows 30+ points
  • 5 playoff games without Tyreek Hill, average game 22/33 (68% completion), 236 yards, 2TD, 0 INT for 109.3 QB rating

Can argue the passing stats are product of passer-friendly era, so I'll add playoff totals for contemporaries Drew Brees, 2010s Brady & Manning, Aaron Rodgers later

With the stiff competition of playoffs, Mahomes has shown he can win from behind, without dominating run offense, when defense isn’t dominating, without an elite WR and in the cold.

Only knocks are he lost to Tom Brady twice (or else Mahomes with 4 rings?) and has only one played road game (although 100% outdoors).
