Still interested in how high Hendon Hooker goes. Not that I've watched him that closely, but he just looks like a pro QB to me. Tall, good mechanics, good arm, seems accurate. I know that system puts up big numbers so that's not what I'm going on. I admit his backup put up huge numbers in their bowl game also, so that's kind of a yellow flag.

But you know the late season ACL tear will get Jerry's attention. :lol
I'm interested. Brings some of the dual threat stuff and wouldn't cost us a first round pick.

26. Dallas Cowboys: Siaki Ika, NT, Baylor
History tells us this won’t be the pick — the Cowboys haven’t drafted a defensive tackle in the top 50 since Russell Maryland at No. 1 in 1991. However, the Cowboys are committed to upgrading their defense and Ika would give them a boulder in the middle of the line. At 355 pounds, Ika is a hard guy to move at the point of attack, but he also has the short-area quickness to be disruptive.

From Bruglar's latest mock draft. We would all love it but he is probably right.

See, I disagree. McCarthy has made it pretty clear IMO he wants bigger bodies up front. By most accounts they'd have drafted Davis last year if they could have. I don't think it's relevant anymore that Marinelli never wanted that type of player.

I won't get my hopes up but I'd love it.

Said it before, and I need to watch more of him, but am I the only one not that impressed with Robinson?

Maybe he's just so hyped up that I expected too much, but I've never been blown away with him. He seems to me like one of those guys who is pretty good at everything but not that great at anything either.

Bijan is a damn good RB, but I do not want a RB in the first.
Yeah I think he could slide in and give us Zeke from a few years ago. Or close to it. But I'd prefer not to burn our first on a RB if he even lasts that long. I'm more in the Zach Evans range.

The other shorthorn rb might be worth it. Less wear on the treads and at least when they played Tech he seemed tougher to stop.

Yeah the guy seems pretty shifty and explosive for a big RB. Small sample size but sometimes it's good to have a RB with a smaller sample size. It's not like he was sitting behind another random dude. Give me a dude like that in the fourth round, keep Pollard on a prove it deal and roll. And frankly I think with the injury maybe Pollard will come back on a reasonable contract. Teams don't value RBs and they value injured RBs even less.

Charbonnet is my favorite in the 3rd range, if we're talking day 3 guys my favorites are Kendre Miller, Chris Rodriguez, Kenny McIntosh and Deuce Vaughan.

I wouldn't take a RB before the 3rd unless Robinson is there in the 1st or Gibbs is there in the 2nd.

In 1990, six running backs went in the first round. Today, you're lucky if one goes off the board in the first 32 picks. And aside from Barkley, they rarely sniff the top 10. I wonder why it took the league so long to figure out that you can find these guys anywhere.

The game changed. Back in our day you put your fastest, best athlete at tailback and handed them the ball 30+ times a game. With the rules changes favoring passing and spread offenses using the run only as a changeup, the best athletes gradually became WRs. Today an Eric Dickerson would 100% be a WR.

Yep. RBs back then had longer prime careers, too. RBs take a beating today and wear down quicker. Defenses are bigger and faster than ever.

I dunno. Passing rules were liberalized like 45 years ago. Dallas had two receivers (Pearson and Hill) eclipse 1,000 yards way back in 1980. And has any NFL team run a true college spread offense? Spurrier tried with the Skins and it blew up in his face. Anyway, taking Zeke in the top 5 looked smart ... for about three years.

If you guys want a sleeper at WR, Rakim Jarrett from Maryland.

He was an elite 5 star recruit just like Diggs, but Maryland as a football program obviously isn't the best place for elite recruits to showcase their talent, so he wasn't a mega-star in college and will fly under the radar going into the draft.

He's an early day 3 guy depending on the Combine, much like Diggs, but there's lots of untapped potential there.

I was talking more about college and high school. Seems like every high school in this part of the country has run some variation of Air Raid or the Briles offense for the last 15 years or so.

Gotcha. One of the biggest changes is QB's never taking a snap from under center (aside from taking a knee).
