Another native son of Brunswick took a step towards realizing his NFL dreams this past weekend.

Former Glynn Academy standout Quandre Mosely announced on his Instagram story that he agreed to a free agent deal with the Dallas Cowboys after the conclusion of the 2022 NFL Draft.

An all-region honorable mention at receiver his senior season at Glynn Academy, Mosely signed with Eastern Arizona Community College, where he quickly established himself as a Division I caliber player.

As a sophomore at Eastern Arizona, Mosely tallied 32 tackles, three tackles for a loss, six interceptions and a fumble recovery while also hauling in four passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns.

In two seasons at the junior college level, Mosely notched 11 interceptions that were returned for a combined 302 yards and four touchdowns before choosing Kentucky over Oregon and Utah as the second-ranked JUCO safety in the country.

After joining Kentucky in 2019, Mosely appeared in 36 total games, recording 69 total tackles, three tackles for a loss, 10 pass breakups, and three interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown, while bouncing between safety and cornerback.

Although he went undrafted, at 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, Mosely has intriguing size for an NFL prospect. He flashed elite athleticism at Kentucky’s pro day, running a 4.32 in the 40-yard dash and posting a vertical jump of 36 inches.

If Mosely can carve out a roster spot during rookie mini camp, he could become the fifth Brunswick native active in the NFL, including the fourth defensive back, joining Philadelphia Eagles corner Darius Slay, Seattle Seahawks corner Justin Coleman, Detroit Lions safety Tracey Walker and Seattle Seahawks running back DeeJay Dallas.

So you do not believe in Bohanna and Ridgeway? They needed to cut Carlos Watkins yesterday. We need another backup linebacker and maybe Akiem Hicks for insurance if Bohanna and Ridgeway does not respond right away.
Ridgeway should be fine as a Brent Urban-type. Bohanna has had way too much talk about him for as mediocre as he is. Watkins as an edge of the roster player and should never be considered a starter.

This defense does not have a guy who can play 3 or 5-T. Odighizuwa has some traits but I don't think he will be able to take the next step. I am not even going to get started on Gallimore. I am very down on him. Trysten Hill should be walking the streets already.

By the way, Stephen considers signing UDFA’s to be participating in free agency.
No better way to source cheap labor.

Alec Lindstrom, Center, Boston College

Lindstrom was seen early in the draft cycle as one of the better centers but took a tumble throughout the season and during the lead-up to the draft. A smart player, Lindstrom has some upside that the Dallas Cowboys will try to develop. With Tyler Biadasz a little bit of a question after last season, this provides a possible backup to the position while he develops. He will compete for a backup spot at center.

The upside to Lindstrom is he is very smart and knows blocking schemes and adjustments very well. He uses his hands well on first impact which, when it lands, can throw inside defensive linemen off their rush plans in the passing game. He looks to finish blocks well and gets out of his stance well regardless of what kind of block he is being asked. More smooth than quick, but has forward mobility.

The downside is he still lacks the ideal size for the position and might be fairly maxed out on his frame. While he can land a good punch and readjust to bull rushers, he lacks consistent pop out of his hands which can lead to off-balance movement if he misses, which happens a little more than one would like. While he is smooth, he lacks some side-to-side athleticism which makes him late to twists. He has some holding issues due to getting thrown off-balance, especially backward, and shows some issues as a run blocker.
