Yup.

Given that he missed most of last season, it was important that he get back into things during camp and preseason.

My guess is that he's not gonna be all that sharp for at least the first 4 to 6 games as he shakes off the rust and gets reacclimated to real game tempo.
Yeah I think even Dak wanted to get out there in live action so he could get comfortable with the leg again. It sucks that he is going to be going from practice where he can't be touched to facing one of the best defenses in the NFL. It's hard not to want to sort of protect that leg if you're Dak. The only way to get over that is with some live action.

But the coaches have made their decision and now we will just have to see how it plays out. If it wasn't for the injury I actually think Dak missing preseason would have been a WGAF. But when you're coming back from a devastating injury you need some live action to feel comfortable again.

Tampa Bay moneyline is free money.

Even if Dak were all systems go it'd be a toss-up at best, with him not taking a real snap since the injury it's basically a lock.

I don't think the coaches are holding him back because they're scared of "regular" injury. I think it's all about the shoulder. They don't want him making some impromptu deep throw and setting it back.

We don't seem to have much patience with kickers in the last 10-15 years, he better get better quickly.

Yeah but Fassel loves him his guys. Zuerlein and McQuade are two of them. I bet the tolerance level is high.
