Embarrassing.
Is it so fucking hard for them all to be on the same page?
Is he not contradicting himself several times here?
It's funny, it feels like he is basically trying to say nothing Nolan did was wrong but oh hey we will be better on defense this year for what reason again then? Same players, we will do a lot of the same schemes, blah blah blah. I think McCarthy just is sticking up for his bud basically. I think what Quinn does is pretty substantially different. Is he not contradicting himself several times here?
We didn't make a mistake, but the mistake we made was too much volume.
It wasn't just one guy's fault in Nolan, but that's the only major change we're going to make.
We did things well?
We did create some turnovers in the later part of the season. We did things well?
We're pretty god damn lucky that he isn't.
Yeah I mean I don't know the guy that well but his career resume doesn't scream defensive coordinator candidate to me. But I guess assistants can sometimes be victims of circumstances. You just usually look for a guy who has had an elite secondary to make that move. Not a guy who had one of the worst. We're pretty god damn lucky that he isn't.
It's a cheap money grabI literally hate the 17th game. Hate it.
Why?I literally hate the 17th game. Hate it.
Why?
More football is awesome as far as I’m concerned. This is a full time job that pays players fucking millions more than 99% of the US population (not to mention the whole world). The extra games will favor the athletes that stay in shape relative to their peers, and more athletes encouraged to stay in shape is a good thing.
Bigger roster sizes is also better for the game as it enables a greater diversity of specialists.
The NFL needs to cut the preseason to two games spread two weeks apart and increase the number of scrimmages and caliber of practice and OTAs.
