I think this is a blessing in disguise for the Eagles. They were replacing Dillard with Peters last year, every time the latter was healthy enough to play. And Peters was noticeably better.

I see two possible reasons why: The team still believes in Jones and attributes his poor performance to coaching and injury. Bones Fassel loves to run trickery on special teams, and Jones is a terrific athlete that allows him to keep those tricks in his quiver.
