The tornado stuff is overrated. Odds are astronomical you'll ever be hit by one.

Sheik is about to learn about the News 9 tornado coverage. It's like a spectator sport all its own. It's pretty fun though if you like that kind of thing. :lol

I’m ready.

I just need some time to get a TV and mini fridge in my shelter.

After a few weeks of investigation, building out in the sticks will mean renting for a year or more might be a challenge around here.

It would be worth it.

Perhaps but $3500 rent is a shit ton more than a mortgage.
What about finding some land with a cruddy house on it that you could at least stay in while the new one is built? I see that fairly often when I look.

That is what we are going to try first. But some of these structures? They look rough. Tomorrow we will check them out in person.

I’m just outside Ada OK. Stonewall.

I’m sure there are places like this all over Oklahoma and Texas.
I've been out to the area (Ada) a time or two back in the early 2000s.

Bonus: You're within decent driving distance of Braum's.

For sure. We stop there when we go shopping. I haven’t had their food yet, but their ice cream is pretty great.

Their burgers are pretty good. If your waitress is over 60 and calls you hun it's gonna be really good

You know what’s not great? Rib Crib. I’ve eaten there twice and didn’t enjoy it either time.

Never heard of it, must be a local thing. Sounds like you need to start a bbq place there

Gonna get a Jalapeño Pepperjack cheeseburger today in @Sheik's honor.

I've never heard much good about Rib Crib either, and never tried it myself. There have to be a couple good local hole-in-the-wall type BBQ places around, though.
