My bad, I thought you worked for a US based arm of the Chinese Communist Party.

I don’t absorb everything I read.
Still doesn't make any sense.

And to be quite honest Sheiky-babe, your posting quality has faded over the years.

Happens to us all.

I am sure many or most if not all of you have been a part of some sort of leadership role with your job.

So this is a question for you.

And those of you who have not, you have my envy.

Have you ever been in a situation where you literally wanted to just go apeshit (no no ki ki ma ma) and just tell everybody off and quit?

I came to that point today.

But somehow, I controlled myself and it was like in a millisecond.

This is a weird experience because besides my very fucking first job, I have never quit.

I just think sometimes a strong work ethic is a rarity that is taken advantage of.

Nevermind. I am venting.
Hang in there, brother. Everyone on this board that has ever been in charge of people and had idiots above us, we understand your pain.

I almost quit a job of 20 years 6 months ago because of things coming down the pike. I was able to head off what was headed my way.

I'm not sure if you can do that, but hang in there, brother.

I have been there and it sucks. I've walked off in a huff to go to lunch with the intention of never going back. But then something about getting food in your stomach helps sometimes I guess because I got something to eat and went back to my shitty job and shitty bosses. But I did resolve to change jobs and eventually did.

I am having a hard time since I have always had autonomy at my job most of my life...Mostly made it but sometimes given it.

Now I work for an almost unbearable corporate creature that cronyism is so prevalent it is sickening.

The incompetence is staggering.

This is a Fortune 1 company.

As an owner I have questioned why the hell I am doing what I’m doing on many occasions. I truly do not enjoy leading most people. I find it extremely frustrating. I have been undergoing a rapid growth process for the last 4 years. It has caused a lot of unforeseen problems with personnel. I have recently hired a HR manager that I hope can solve some of my problems.

I am currently experiencing a really tough HR problem with one of my business development reps. She is extremely strong willed and challenges every damn thing. I put her in her place very strongly which was returned with more aggression. She told me I was abusive towards her and clearly an abusive husband and dad. It sort of threw me for a loop so I let the HR a manager know that I was accused of being abusive. That is a serious accusation to throw out. Our HR manager took her statement and gave her a chance to make the charges documented. In the meeting she questioned if I was racist (she’s meskin) which upped the game another level. She is clearly using buzz words in an attempt to gain more power in the situation. All of this has been taken as a threat to my financial well being. The HR a manager is extremely valuable to me in this situation.

The plan going forward is to focus job performance and go from there. My wife is largely uninvolved with the business but she is the president and 50% owner. If she found out there would be one hell of a situation on our hands. Me wife is sweet but she will destroy your damn life is you f with me or our family.

@boozeman what say you?

Tell your wife before it goes from Abusive, to racist, to sexual harassment.

The chicken head you’re dealing with is obviously a crazy one.

The blessing and curse of being a good leader. We often care too much, and we think before we react. I've been there too. Stop once you are calm and either pro/con it or plan what your next step would be if you moved on. I find job searching cathartic. Seeing what is out there can either inspire you or help you realize what you have.

From an HR perspective, this is a slippery slope. Does the employee have any performance issues? You can do progressive discipline within weeks and terminate her if she doesn't show improvement. As long as your communication is clear and expectations are set it is hard for them to argue against it. You just have to be sure that you aren't treating her any different or holding her to a standard different than other employees in a similar situation. The personal attack towards you is unacceptable. Assuming this was witnessed by others, I would look into TX law specifically. You can terminate someone for defamation. Alternatively, you could offer a resignation with a small severance. Irreconcilable differences/ management incompatibility. How long has she been with the company? 1 week's pay for every 1-2 years of service may be a cheap solution.

Talk to your wife. Tell her the situation and the plan already in place. She won't like hearing it afterward and knowing there is a plan will help.

I just did that very thing Monday morning. I have been working offshore for 27 years. Last Sunday, we got an email saying that we got yet another email saying we would be taking yet another pay cut. This would have been my fourth pay cut since 2015. Just so happened that I had a job offer from Georgia Pacific, so I called them and they immediately offered more pay than I was making along with exponentially better benefits. Didn't take me long to start writing my resignation.
I was pretty much finished with the whole deal at that point, but my old company sent me an "exit Interview form". lol. I am sure they didn't enjoy the read.
Starting my new position bright and early Monday morning.

Say that reminds me.

I saw a blurb today that stated that according to Indeed, the #1 reason people are not taking jobs right now is because....

Fear of COVID.

Incredible.

I am a little intrigued that this seems to be leeching off the pandemic with some sort of fucking push for people to keep on with this virtual working world.

I say fuck that shit.

These motherfuckers don't want to work. And that lazy shit was around even before COVID, which means a pretty deep seeded issue with our culture in terms of work.

Pre-pandemic, I had a real idiot broad of an HR Office Manager. I had just taken my position and she immediately hits me up with a schedule proposal which would be a four day in office and one day "working from home". I laughed that shit off, she got disgruntled and she transferred to another facility and took her fucking "personal life issues" with her.

Now, I have a similar situation with the replacement. She does not feel "safe" due to the pandemic and cries that she is "high risk"....so she has filed an ADA claim to be able to work remotely.

Prove it, twat. This one will be fun. She has no health issues, nothing. Just that she has, again, issues at home.

You could say this is a scarred world because of what really has become a society full of people with idiotic anxiety.

I see more opportunists and hustlers. Ain't nothing wrong with these people.
