If their goal is to keep players from severe symptoms that I guess I get that. If they are trying to prevent the spread it's just simply not true. And truth be told no NFL players up to this point have had severe health problems and that certainly seems like a personal choice the NFL should have no part in.

Like I said, it's not fixing everything. But to say it's not doing any good at all would be ignoring some important numbers.

Doing some good for the general public, I agree. Doing any good for the NFL, no not at all. For the general public it's potentially saving lives because those people getting the virus who have the vaccine have a much better chance of survival. For NFL players, we are seeing basically that this things spreads and doesn't care who is vaccinated. We aren't really seeing any serious ill effects with any NFL players, vaccinated or not.

Another tough one. No OL to speak of, deteriorated remnants of Parcells' defenses. Burned through the prime of Romo's career there.
And yet they should have gone 11-5.

That team was solid, but they suffered 3 grueling, inexcusable losses:

The opener at the Jets.

The collapse vs the Lions at home with the Romo back to back pick 6's.

The Giants loss towards the end of the year when they had a 12 point point lead with under 5 min to play.

Take just 2 of those 3 back and they win the division.

Yep. Too much passing in the latter cases. Romo was great but he shouldn't have been relied upon to do too much. Why are we passing when we are up three TDs? No leadership, ownership, or authority from the coaching side.

Also where in Hell was the defense in the last case? I know Romo went for it and badly miscommunicated a throw to Miles Austin that would have clinched it on 3rd and 5, but we just bent over had let Eli take us from behind exactly like in 2007 up 14-7 in the playoffs.

Didn't stop in 2012. The defense and OL further deteriorated to the point where Romo literally had to look like Houdini in the 2012 opener in NY just to maintain the LOS and complete a pass let alone win that game (how he pulled that one off baffles me).

In 2013 there was that terrible game vs Green Bay (looked just like the 2011 Detroit game) where we stopped running the football despite averaging 7.7 YPC in the first half.

I think the Cowboys felt like Romo could just carry the team. It's impossible for any QB when there are consistently so many holes in the way the team is built foundationally. It takes the whole team to win consistently, not just one guy

His decision, and he is right, everyone should respect that.
I dunno, at some point you gotta shove politics aside and set an example for your team as its supposed leader. The health of the team is more important. People also look up to their favorite team's QB, too, like it or not. I don't think he'd keep his kids from getting a Polio or Measles vaccine, so why is this one different?

I'd venture to guess it's not at all about politics. It's actually kind of dumb to suggest.

It's most likely about concern for your own personal health. There's absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to see more time and research before jumping headlong into taking medicine.

The comparison between this and measles vaccine or whatever doesn't hold water. Those vaccines have been out for decades.

Hell, I don't even like to take ibuprofen or acetaminophen if I can help it, and we know full well what that stuff does or doesn't do.

I don't blame anyone who wants to see more before jumping into the deep end of the pool.

And none of this has anything to do with whether he is a pro athlete and has an obligation to his team or whatever. Would you say a QB with a concussion should play, for the good of the team?

The backup sucks. The team needs you. Shake off your concussion and get back out there?

Of course not.

Your obligation to protect your health takes precedence.

If you believe in the vaccine and are comfortable getting it, then do that.

If you're not comfortable with it, and want to see more, then don't get it.

It's really that simple.

I remember when my wife was pregnant she had a while where she had some trouble with morning sickness.

Her doctor prescribed her some medicine or other.

My wife read the list of side effects, which included (in very rare cases) death of the mother and/or death of the fetus.

My wife immediately said no and wouldn't take it, and took her chances with the vomiting.

And no one said, "Oh, you and your politics."

Not that similar is it? Did she refuse The polyvalent vaccine? I think that would be more similar?
