So Rapist goes HoF and Romo is no go though you said they’re interchangeable?
Yes, because as I clearly pointed out, you ultimately have to judge his/their career on what actually happened.

And the reality is that our guy won 2 playoff games for his career and the other guy won 2 Super Bowls and went to 3.

In terms of accomplishments, Ben has a lot more on his resume.

It's not rocket science.
Yep, say Romo doesn't bobble the snap and he goes on to win one with Parcells then have the same disappointing years with Garrett I think he'd have a good chance of getting in. Probably not first ballot but eventually. It might be fucked up but the difference between him and the HOF is one trip to Cabo

In this NFL age where QBs are easily putting up video game like numbers, postseason success is one of the things that HOF voters place heavy emphasis on to differentiate players.

I think Romo and Carson Palmer are both going to miss out for that very reason. Both have really good numbers but their numbers don't blow you away. Especially in this pass-happy age of football.

Philip Rivers on the other hand, has a very good shot at getting in, IMO. Despite not winning or getting to a Super Bowl, he led his team to multiple conference championship games plus he's going to finish top 5 all-time in a number of career passing categories.

There are so many what-ifs with him.

As I said before, I believe he would have had a better career and very likely a HOF career had he been in a better situation.

But I can't put him as someone's equal or give him accolades for something I thought he would've been. You grade (for lack of a better term) a guy on what he actually was and what he actually accomplished.

Also, as much as we bitch about Jerry, I'd say he was saddled with one of the worst front offices ever

Yep you can't put Romo in on what if's when he had a couple shots in the playoffs and had fuckups .

I totally agree, just don’t get why the comparison then if it’s completely moot.

The point was that I believe that he too could've succeeded big and accomplished a lot of the same things that another QB who is both considered a HOF and was similar in play style was able to accomplish.

It's a compliment to Romo.

But I can't consider them equals if Ben actually did accomplish those things and Romo didn't.

No team is going to give two 1st round picks for Dak Prescott.

Stop it, guys.

It will still get done but now you have to deal with more drama that hurts the team.
Imagine if he refuses to show up for camp without a deal... Didn't he already claim he wouldn't do anything over the summer without one?

Talk about drama...

Its the Zeke drama all over again that set us back last year.
Just like the asshole owner likes it, he'll drag it out til the bitter end, not because he's negotiating hard but so everyone keeps hand wringing in the news endlessly

wouldn't surprise me if they had a deal agreed to in principle months ago but jeri winked and said lets let everyone stew over this for a few months

You know what would be refreshing?

An owner that would tell Dak and his team, “This is what you’re worth to us and we’ll pay you this amount. If it’s not good enough, let us know, you can then seek a deal elsewhere and we’ll begin searching for a veteran replacement. You have 3 days to decide.”

That would be a respectable approach.

Ok now that Dak's tagged, here's a big question on my mind:
If we got 8-8, 9-7, miss the postseason, or lose a wildcard.....do we let him walk?
