Yeah, it's not like Dak is going to see the new CBA and suddenly lower his asking price. His asking price either isn't going to change or it's going to go up. So why wait for the new CBA other than to procrastinate. But this seems to always be our negotiation tactic, wait until the very last second and then try to hammer something out. That or get someone locked up years in advance hoping for a team friendly deal.
And yet the Jones boys fancy themselves as shrewd negotiators. While they take it up the ass from player after player on the table.
Waiting is exactly what Todd France has wanted to do.
The Eagles and Rams got ahead of things while their quarterbacks still had years remaining in their deals. The Joneses are about to pay the price for having Dak cheap for four years - and then some.
I'm actually starting to get to the point where I say duck it, either Dak plays on the tag or he doesn't play at all. But I'm not giving him in excess of $35 million a year and putting my team at a disadvantage vs the entire rest of the league because he's next in line and I waited too long.
I'm worried we're going to see a market-setting deal for a quarterback who hasn't won anything followed by a Jones family sales job after what a great thing it is.
