Well, hopefully he's learned a lot in his time studying the game and his own personal tendencies.

If he brings in a good DC that can turn this unit into a difference-maker for once, then I think the Cowboys will have their best shot in a long time to make it a SB over the next 2 or 3 years.

At least now there's reason to be interested again.

Not my first choice, but still a pretty good hire. As far as the speed and timing of this, I doubt that this was done as quickly and with as little search as people are saying. I'd bet there was a lot of contact between them over the last few weeks/months. Phone calls made to others even, to check their interest. Just because somebody isn't brought in for a formal interview for the press to report on, doesn't mean there wasn't any contact and conversations being made.

Now, I'm just waiting for the next big news that needs to come out of Dallas. That Marinelli is also gone. We need to get back to taking defense in Dallas seriously again.
