I still don't believe this. Like I said before... Jerry is an attention whore. He believes his news deserves more press than others, and is above announcing things at the same time as other teams.

It's why we always see Cowboys news during the Super Bowl week. Right before the draft. During the pro bowl. Etc...

And that is why he will wait until after the rush of black monday has passed. THEN he'll have his press conference.
Yeah, and its so gawddamned annoying. Jerry is such a fucking narcissistic asshole that it ALWAYS has to be about him. And its why the team has been stuck in purgatory for the last 20 years.

For Jerry to truly do it right, he would hire a head coach and back the fuck out of the way. Let the new HC decide if Moore or Kitna stays and what exactly their role would be. But, as we all know, Jerry has never done it the right way because he has no clue what the right way is.
Did anyone hear Aikman today on The Ticket?

He was ripping jeri and mentioning stuff like this nonsense. It was great, he sounds as frustrated and discouraged as I am.

Wish they still posted replays so we could listen

I am not sure he would be a great candidate. Yes, he has a unique offense, but unless he is bringing Lamar Jackson with him, I can't get excited.
He's been part of a lot of success going back to Stanford with Harbaugh. I think he's a legit offensive mind who can build an offense, not just run a system.

And being a head coach is totally different. Who would he bring with him to install the offense? Who is he bringing as a DC?

Some guys are brilliant football minds but can't handle the step up from coordinator to HC.

He has never been a head coach on any level.

I just really don't want the 8-8 purgatory, and Zimmer wouldn't give me hope we could break out. I know Cowher and Dungy (and Kubiak, for that matter) ultimately got rings, but they needed HOF QBs to do it. Dak can be good, but he ain't Peyton Manning.
Did you see Manning that season? He wasn't even bus driver level.

I like Kitna a lot, and I think he should stay, but that isn’t, or at least it shouldn’t be up to Jerry fucking Jones.

Who does this shit? “Hey, you wanna be the next head coach here, bubba? Mmkay, I alreadyhave some of your assistants hired, you are going to be okay with that, right?”.

It’s such a backward approach. I understand Kitna may be good for Dak, he may be doing an A-1 fantastic job, but anyone stepping into Jason’s job should be able to determine if he wants to retain anyone from the previous staff. It shouldn’t be a stipulation of taking the job.

Has anyone told Jerry he’s a fucking idiot to his face?

Manning played within himself, he wasn’t the 30-40 TD Manning of Young, but he was the smartest QB to ever play the position, imo, and redefined his game that year. He picked his spots and played a different game.

Kubiak wasn’t winning the SB that year with Tampa Bay Brad Johnson or Baltimore Trent Dilfer.

I will concede that he was pretty terrible stat wise, and the defense carried them much of that year, but he was still out there with that mind of his.

Complicated question given you never quite know who a guy wants vs. who is available. I could do some deep dives on people he has worked with and raiding Stanford and Michigan coaches for guys from the same tree, but that would just be guys I would hire if I was Christmas shopping for him. Moot point since half of the staff would be Jerry hires anyway, which is why he'd be stupid to make his play here if he was serious about being a successful HC.

Jane Slater....
A source inside the Star tells me #Cowboys HC Jason Garrett has said goodbyes to several staff members while exchanging information to keep in touch. Late with Christmas cards or the end inevitable? Stay tuned.

:lol

I occasionally have trouble trying to post something in a particular thread (it just loads forever and never posts) and if I post something different for some reason it fixes it.
You don’t have to change it that much. You can change one word in the sentence or even reword it and it will post, just FYI.

Why would you fire an assistant and then rehire them if the new coach wants them? You should hold off on anything until the new coach is hired.
