Hmm interesting, definitely thought I had him in the last group but I guess I was moving too fast.

Pshhhhhh the athletic had him pretty high...

Williams, who will turn 25 in April, was the No. 68-ranked free agent on The Athletic’s top 150 list and the fourth-highest running back on the board. Selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of the University of North Carolina, he has spent the first four seasons of his career with the Denver Broncos.

I like him on a flier but the guy hasn't averaged 4+ YPC since he was a rookie.

Yeah, it's a cheap flier on a guy you know can at least fill the third down RB role. Even Jeanty needs someone to share the load with. Having all rookies on the depth chart is a recipe for disaster.

Technically he averaged over 4 a carry in his second year too. Before he tore up his knee. Maybe his third year after the injury will be a charm. Or maybe the system the last two years in Denver just weren't a fit.

I love this shit. “Knowledge” of the team.

No.

Simple deductive reasoning.
If I believed we had any plans to use the savings elsewhere I'd definitely be celebrating a move like this, but when I read "more cost effective" I think we all know what that means

When the alternative is paying the same dogshit RB twice as much in Dowdle, I will take the turd swap, although I think Williams is a superior player to Dowdle, even now.

Exactly. This very well might be an upgrade and the very least isn't particularly worse, and might wind up making half the salary.

I think this was a good move.

I'm not saying we should have resigned Dowdle, but he did average 4.6 ypc.

This new guy is in the same neighborhood as slugs like Zeke.

Agreed and it's a one year rental. This isn't some type of a solution. Its just some help while we bring a rookie along.
