Probably moreso because of his father. That would be a revolting combination.
Shurmur is an unimaginative dork who only keeps getting jobs because he's a legacy coach.

Probably can't go lateral and I doubt he'd leave Washington for a lateral in this circus. Can he make a lateral move? I know this was brought up yesterday, but I don't remember reading anything definitive.
I don't think he's a good coach per se because it's too soon to know that, but I do like the way he's gone about doing things at Colorado and believe that's it's a formula that would translate well to the NFL and I'll tell you why....Also, I don't get why people even think Deion is a good coach. He only did anything in college because he was able to recruit good talent. He "turned around" Colorado not by coaching up players who were there, but by changing out almost the entire roster in a year, which he obviously can't do in the NFL. He had two top-five picks including the Heisman winner on his CU team and was ranked 18 or whatever, and that playing in a mediocre conference. I don't see it at all at the pro level where talent is much more equal.
About the only part of this I believe is him having a huge ego. And I especially don't believe the bolded part.I don't think he's a good coach per se because it's too soon to know that, but I do like the way he's gone about doing things at Colorado and believe that's it's a formula that would translate well to the NFL and I'll tell you why....
Deion is smart enough to stay in his lane. He knows he's not an X's and O's guy and he's not trying force his ideas on anyone.
He knows that he is a walk around coach/manager type. So he understands that his best chance for success is to get the best coaches he can and let them do their jobs.
And even though he has a huge ego, that doesn't bother him because he knows that what will ultimately get him the credit and recognition he desires is to win games.
He's not trying to be the smartest guy in the room. He just wants to be the face of a winner and he knows that's exactly what will happen if his team wins games and those coaches are helping him do that.
Because for as great of a job as his OC or DC might do, it's Coach Prime that's going to get the spotlight and that's all he wants.
So if he comes here and puts the same approach together where he gets the best coaches he can and the best talent and he lets them all work together? That has a decent shot to succeed if he picks right guys.
And given his relationship with Jerry, he might be the guy that persuades him to spend a little more in FA than we have the past few years.
He also walks in the locker room and has the respect and attention of the players on day 1.
All of this is why I think that of all the "bad" candidates, he's the one that stands the best chance to succeed.
It's sad that we even have to debate this. That's just how awful the candidates are.About the only part of this I believe is him having a huge ego. And I especially don't believe the bolded part.
Right.... That's what's I think too. This is where I'm at, Moore is a better NFL HC candidate on paper given his track record (as evidenced by being somewhat in the conversation for other jobs) but we all know if he comes here it's just a dysfunctional "family picture" situation where he'll be walked all over.
Deion is like a demented version of Belichick in that he might actually have the personality/demeanor to be a shock to the system and change the culture for a few years, while having the sway to potentially get the two dumbo's to spend some money in FA.
Obviously I don't think Deion is in the same galaxy as Belichick, but I think he is probably one of the few who could keep Jerry at bay for a few years and maybe change the rotten culture somewhat.
I'm serious..... That would be the last straw for me.
Right, I don't either.I don't want Deion, just looking for that silver & blue lining.
The fact that he has the Dak familiarity is part of the fucking problem.
It won't matter when it's 2nd and goal at the 2 and we're lined up in shotgun with 4 WRs on the field. The one (and I mean literally one) upside of hiring Moore is that it guarantees Jeanty is the pick if he's there at 12.
that line cut through me like a dentist's drill2nd coming of Garrett

Sarkisian is gonna be our coach? It won't matter when it's 2nd and goal at the 2 and we're lined up in shotgun with 4 WRs on the field.

Sadly, it's an accurate statement.Sarkisian is gonna be our coach?
Sorry. That was a low blow.
The fact that could be considered a selling point is insane.2nd coming of Garrett

I hate Garrett way more. Moore at least isn't a backstabbing slimy prick.2nd coming of Garrett
