And that's the other thing: Would Jerry actually stay out of it and tell the players the coach is the boss and I have his back for whatever he wants to do? Jerry hasn't done that since the first few Parcells years, if even then.
He definitely did it then.

Think about it -- if it were up to Jerry, who would've started at QB for the second half of the 2004 season? Testaverde or Drew Henson?

Jerry has shown he can and will relinquish control for a coach, but it has to be the right coach and under the right circumstances.

If there is one thing I appreciate about Belichick is that he has that Parcells trait in him where he will never allow the stars to smell themselves. I just fear the coaching minions he would bring aboard.
I agree about the coaching minions and him having his hand in drafting. I think the guy is terrible at drafting. Especially when it comes to offensive players.

I don't get the consternation about the assistants. If they work well when he's the head coach, who cares how they do when they go off on their own?

I fucking love it.

Micah Parsons is going to need a therapist after a training camp with Belichick.

If he talked to Brady like that, I'd hate to hear what he had to say about Dak.

I am more concerned that Belichick pulls a Parcells and quits then one of those turds gets elevated.

I just can't envision Belichick and Parsons, a loose cannon, coexisting.

I'm more worried about if he could get Parsons to play the run.

That might mean gaining a few pounds and actually working out with the team in the offseason instead of with some guru in Austin in between travelling around the world and sumo wrestling.

I hope Parsons hasn't already been ruined by the enabling Jerry culture, but he may have been.

Martin has seemed to struggle some this year. I didn’t realize until they mentioned it on the broadcast the other night how long he had been playing. He has basically been taking care of the right side of the line for years now along with babysitting the center Since Frederick retired. Another career wasted

Demarcus Ware, Jason Witten, Zack Martin, Tyron Smith

In the last 20 years, Cowboys probably rank pretty high on wasted careers for at least borderline HOF-level players to never reach the Super Bowl while in Dallas.

Add Tony Romo, Frederick and Dez Bryant if rounding up.

Calvin Johnson, Khalil Mack, Adrian Peterson, Joe Thomas, Geno Atkins, LaDanian Tomlinson, Champ Bailey, Kuechly, etc but they were all on different teams.
