You know what, after listening to Mike's postgame PC -- and I hadn't even thought of this -- it almost sounds like he wanted those FGs to test/develop Aubrey for later in the year.

Obviously, it's not like you're running plays trying not to score TDs, but it sounds like that was part of his thinking once we were way up.

Btw, heard that Aubrey is the first kicker in Cowboys history to make his first seven kicks in a row.

Like I done said before…
Told you guys their running game wasn't some monster group, very good and to be respected, but they were getting overhyped.

And Mazi was key on that 3rd and 1 QB sneak they stuffed.

Williams is literally a top 3 DT in the league, behind only Donald and Chris Jones (maybe), and Bass is a rookie UDFA in his second game.

The fact that our offense wasn't completely incapacitated is a huge accomplishment for Bass.
And on his first play he pulled and helped spring a nice run (running away from Williams did not hurt)

Random thoughts:

-I think any and all complaining about Tolbert can be put to rest, he isn't a grand slam hit of a pick but he looks like a solid contributor as a WR3/4. You probably never want him as your WR2 but he isn't a bust.
-The offensive design is so much more pragmatic and mature now, it's not perfect but I'm taking this every day of the week over Moore's demented version of Garrett's offense. It's just a shame that it took until year 8 for Dak to get the opportunity.
-Our screen game is probably the best I've ever seen it. It feels like Cowboys fans have been wondering why we can't execute a screen like the rest of the league for the last 30 years but that's seemingly over now.
-Most of us have been saying for a while that we need a short yardage/goal line type back, still true.
-If we had played this game under Garrett, against that defense, with just a 18-10 lead at halftime and playing our 3rd string LG the rest of the way, I'm not sure it's a win. I'm definitely sure it isn't as comfortable a win.
-If Gallup continues like this there's no way we can keep him at his salary, he either takes a huge pay cut (half) or has to go. We need that money to resign someone like Biadasz or Armstrong (don't @ me booze).
-Second week in a row Biadasz recovers a fumble by hustling after the play, I'm not sure it was actually a fumble since I was at the game but that's impressive from him.
-They gotta get Lamb locked up ASAP because the price is only going up now that he's in an offense that manufactures easy catches for him.
-Parsons the God.

Told my friend who is a Steeler fan that this version of the Doomsday Defense makes the Steel Curtain look like a chain link fence.

It definitely was a fumble.

I wonder if any part of Jerry realizes how stupid it was to think Kellen was the next genius and/or how he had to keep him in place because he was so tight with Dak. Yes, better late than never. But like you said, what a shame that it took this long.

(don't @ me booze).
